The precision engineering found in the 2020 BMW X7 M50i is what makes this powerful automobile stand out in its class. Luxury vehicles are more competitive than ever, with prices topping $100,000 before adding on the optional packages.

Auto manufacturers must find innovative ways to entice potential customers to invest in the purchase of a high-end vehicle. BMW has successfully done this with the all-new X7. The performance outweighs the hefty price tag, giving consumers a car worth driving.

The 2020 BMW X7 M50i meets the needs of any family

The full-size three-row X7 is the biggest BMW ever made, with seating that accommodates seven passengers. It is nine inches longer than the X5, offering a luxurious and spacious interior. The large size fulfills the need of any family looking for both style and quality.

The second-row passengers have access to temperature controls with heated leather seats and five climate zones. There are easy-to-reach USB charging ports and a 12-volt power outlet. The soft-close automatic doors and electric window shades are a definite sign of luxury.

Seat configurations consist of a three-person bench seat or two captain’s chairs with clip-on pillows for the second row. The driver has full control of third-row access. A simple push of a button on the driver-side door panel moves the seats forward for ease of use and extended legroom. The captain’s chairs slide and tilt forward but don’t fold down completely.

The third-row seats easily fold flat to accommodate cargo. The hidden compartment in the back also provides an extra amount of storage space. A split liftgate makes loading groceries, kid’s gear, or anything else you want to carry a breeze. The bottom half folds flat and the glass lifts for ease of use.

After driving the BMW X7, MotorTrend said, “The M50i is powerful and fun to drive, ensuring this three-row vehicle meets a family’s needs while remaining true to BMW DNA.”

A worthy M model

BMW has created a worthy M model with the X7. The 4.4-liter 32-valve turbocharged V8 engine powers an incredible 523 hp, churning an astounding 553 lb-ft of torque. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, the powerful automobile can go from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 4.5 seconds.

When it comes to performance, MotorTrend said, “The X7 is quick. It is quick off the mark, quick to change gears, quick to pass, quick to exceed the speed limit when you are not looking. And the rumble of the V8 is thrilling.”

The luxurious interior offers contoured heated and ventilated leather seats throughout the cabin. The high seating position offers extended comfort for long road trips. The dashboard is padded black leather, creating a high-end feel. There are no signs of cheap plastic, and the ambient lighting and glass controls scream class. The leather-wrapped steering wheel has fingertip controls, giving the driver full command of the infotainment controls.

Car and Driver compares the interior of the BMW X7 to that of a Rolls Royce, saying, “This car makes me want to be rich!”

Is the price worth it?

The BMW X7 M50i is in direct competition with the Mercedes GLS. Industry experts refer to these high-end vehicles as the $100,000 Luxury SUV battle.

The base price of the BMW X7 is $100,595, with an extensive list of standard equipment. Additional packages include the Extended Traffic Jam Assist for $1,700. The Dynamic Handling Package tacks on $3,450 to the six-figure price and the Cold Weather Package adds another $1,200. The Executive Package costs an additional $1,300 and includes a panoramic sky lounge LED roof with colorful nighttime lighting.

There is no better feeling than driving in luxury and style as the sound of the powerful V8 rumbles down the highway. So, when asked is it worth the hefty price tag, the answer will always be a definitive YES.
