General Motors brand Chevrolet makes one of the best full-size SUVs in the game: the Chevy Tahoe. The Tahoe is affordable (for its segment), practical, and has a great standard powertrain. Part of the Tahoe’s appeal to many consumers is its large size. Its cabin and cargo space allow for plenty of passengers and belongings. But what if there was a competitor with even more space? Here are a few SUV models bigger than the Chevrolet Tahoe full-size SUV.

Largest full-size SUVs of 2023

Full-Size SUVLength
Chevy Tahoe 210.7 inches
Lincoln Navigator L 221.9 inches
Ford Expedition MAX221.9 inches
GMC Yukon XL 225.2 inches
Chevrolet Suburban225.7 inches
Jeep Grand Wagoneer L 226.7 inches
Cadillac Escalade ESV227 inches
Largest SUVs (by length).

Chevy’s Tahoe may be massive, but it’s not the largest SUV on the market. It certainly is one of the largest in its price range. The more expensive Chevy Suburban is significantly longer (15 inches). It also has more cargo space (16 cubic feet).

The Chevy Tahoe and Suburban have plenty in common, the biggest difference being the obvious length, cabin, and cargo space. Chevrolet’s Tahoe is a fine SUV but doesn’t occupy the same niche as the Suburban and other hulking behemoths. There’s a special market for consumers who want the largest vehicles the automotive industry offers.

Largest 2023 full-size SUVs by price

2023 Full-Size SUVPrice (Highest to Lowest)
Lincoln Navigator L $98,350
Jeep Grand Wagoneer $90,495
Cadillac Escalade ESV$82,295
Ford Expedition MAX$62,590
Chevrolet Suburban$62,095
GMC Yukon XL$60,400
Largest SUVs organized by pricing.

All the SUVs listed above are over 220 inches long. The GMC Yukon XL, Chevrolet Suburban, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, and Cadillac Escalade ESV are the only models above 225 inches long. Jeep’s Grand Wagoneer and the Cadillac Escalade ESV are the only models with lengths above 226 inches.

These dimensions and pricing information of the largest SUVs hint at the value these models provide for the money and the segments they belong to. The GMC Yukon XL and Chevy Suburban are mainstream full-size SUVs that are attainable to the average consumer. Additionally, the Grand Wagoneer and Escalade ESV are luxury models reserved for drivers willing to spend over $80K for a new SUV.

So, the Chevrolet Suburban provides the most value for the money to the common driver. Its less popular cousin, the GMC Yukon XL, also provides great value for the money in terms of size and affordability. That said, many drivers will choose the Suburban over the Yukon XL simply for its cultural cache.

Are full-size SUVs popular?

Small SUVs are the most popular vehicles in the industry. Full-size SUVs like the Chevy Tahoe are becoming less popular as consumers look to more affordable midsize three-row models during times of financial hardship. The Kia Telluride is popular because it’s a midsize three-row family SUV that provides ample cabin and cargo space at an affordable price.

Toyota’s new Grand Highlander midsize three-row SUV is one of the fastest-selling new vehicles because of the high demand for affordable and reliable family SUVs with three rows of seats. Full-size SUVs are still relevant to the industry, but midsize three-row SUVs could become much more popular over the next few years.
