Serena Williams, one of the greatest tennis players of all time, retired last year with a cool $260 million in the bank. She can obviously drive whatever the hell she wants. She and her husband left a Miami party last week in a brand new Tesla Cybertruck, and some of Williams’ fans were less than thrilled. One took to Twitter to say, “I know her annoying husband convinced her to buy this ugly a** car.” And they were partly right: Alexis Ohanian–one of the founders of Reddit–picked up Cybertruck #003 from the factory “to be the coolest dad” to he and Williams’ two daughters. But Williams has quite the car collection of her own.

At least $100 million of Williams’ hard-earned cash comes from tennis prize money. But like many athletes, Serena Williams also has lucrative sponsorships, including several with car companies.

For a time, Williams was the face of Aston Martin. The automaker thanked her by gifting her a $315k Vanquish. The 565 horsepower coupe has a 201 mph top speed and Williams has featured it on her Instagram.

“It’s going to be great. I’m going to be the coolest dad, dropping off my daughter at school. That’s ultimately the goal.”

Williams has also partnered with Lincoln, so its unsurprising she arrived at the 2019 MET Gala in a Continental. But this wasn’t just any Continental. It was the limited Coach Door Edition which would cost one of us peasants at least $116k–if it ever came up for sale. What makes this car so unique? Lincoln modified it with rear-hinged rear “suicide” doors as an homage to Lincolns of the past. Williams also owns a top trim Lincoln Navigator. Her first car was actually a white Lincoln Navigator she bought after her first big tournament win when she was 18. The SUV may seem like a splurge for a teenager, but Serena nicknamed it “Ginger” and drove it for eight years before giving it to her niece.

Serena Williams also partnered with Mini and appeared in a commercial driving a Cooper S. She’s rumored to own a Bentley Continental GT, a Mercedes G-Class “G Wagon,” a BMW X7, a Cadillac Escalade, and a Jeep Wrangler. In the past, she hasn’t been a huge fan of Tesla.

Alexis Ohanian has been married to Serena Williams since 2017. The couple has two daughters. You might describe Ohanian as an entrepreneur with a heart.

He first learned to write computer code as a teenager, and immediately began donating his time to nonprofits to build them free websites. He founded Reddit in an effort to democratize the internet, later selling it for $10 million. Since then, he has founded companies that give all the donations to charity, lobbied for net neutrality, and even resigned from the less-than-diverse Reddit board to give his seat to a black entrepreneur.

Ohanian is such a big fan of the Cybertruck that he flew to Tesla’s Austin factory, bought “Foundation Series” model #003, and drove it home to Florida. See his initial reaction to his new Tesla in the video below:

Williams’ net worth is at least 3X that of her husband’s. But with an estimated net worth of $70 million, Ohanian probably didn’t have to ask his wife for a loan to buy the $120k Cybertruck Foundation Series.
