Being the worst full-size truck is never a good look. Unfortunately, the Chevrolet Silverado could be on track to fall into last place. Right now, there’s only one factor keeping the 2024 Chevy Silverado away from the bottom of the barrel.

The 2024 Chevy Silverado isn’t the worst full-size truck

Any guesses as to what the worst full-size truck is? Well, it’s not the 2024 Chevy Silverado, yet. According to U.S.News, the 2024 Nissan Titan is the worst truck in the class.

It has a score of 7.2 out of 10 and the Silverado sits above it in fifth place with a score of 8.0. The 2024 Ram 1500 ranks as the best truck with a score of 8.9.

So, the Silverado has a nice buffer. It can rely on the Titan for padding until the end of the year. But the Titan was discontinued.

What will happen to the 2025 Silverado? It either needs to make a few improvements to outrank the competition or accept the fate of being ranked last.

Currently, the Silverado has a lower rating because the lower-level trims have an unimpressive interior and it exhibits a stiff ride.

It has positive scores for having a long list of potent engines, intuitive tech, a massive Crew Cab, and friendly handling.

The 2024 Chevy Silverado is part of the fourth generation launched in 2019, so it is due for a refresh. It recently received a mid-cycle refresh that didn’t provide lower trim levels with a lot of changes.

However, that refresh might not be coming anytime soon. Rumors suggest that the 2025 model will only have minor updates, which might not be enough to improve its ranking. The 2025 Silverado is expected to enter production in August 2025, but that date could change.

The next Silverado generation is expected to have a plug-in hybrid power train, which might not be ready until 2026 or 2027.

There’s potential for the Silverado to rank as the worst truck for a couple of years unless it gets faster improvements or if another model drops the ball.

For example, the Ram 1500 was completely redesigned for 2025 with a steep price increase. This may cause it to drop a few spots.
