2025 will be a big year for the auto industry. But before the inevitable shakeups, successes, and failures of next year, the market will clear some of the shelf. Many familiar, even beloved cars will be dead for the new year. And there are four on that list that we are going to miss terribly in the new car market.

The gateway to 2025 is littered with dead cars, four of which we’ll sorely miss

  1. Chevrolet Camaro

Perhaps one of the highest-profile casualties of 2025, the Chevrolet Camaro bowed out after the 2024 model year. Of course, the Ford Mustang’s perennial rival isn’t the only one; the Dodge Challenger left production after the 2023 model year, leaving the Mustang alone in the segment.

However, classic rivalry aside, the Camaro’s departure marks a sad chapter for the American sports car market. Gone is the most affordable V8 coupe and convertible on the market. So too is the corner-carving, 650-horsepower ZL1 and ZL1 1LE.

  1. Nissan GT-R

That’s right. After a year brimming with Godzilla media content, Nissan’s famed “Godzilla” is hitting the chopping block. After around 16 years of the R35’s almost-too-subtle style, the Nissan GT-R will leave production.

However, on its way to the grave, Nissan’s dead performance car provided a supercar-killing performance coupe option. Still, time marches on, and 2025 claims the GT-R and its hard-working all-wheel drive (AWD) system as an automotive sacrifice for the new year.

  1. Lamborghini Huracán

Say it ain’t so. The Lamborghini Huracán, one of the brand’s most successful models ever, won’t live to see 2025. Like the little “entry-level” Lamborghini, the mechanically similar Audi R8 also left production.

In fact, the departure of the Lamborghini and Audi V10 supercars leaves the 10-cylinder market barren. Of course, the Huracán didn’t ride off in silence. Lamborghini built a high-riding Sterrato model akin to the unhinged Porsche 911 Dakar. Still, the Huracán will exit stage left to make room for the new plug-in hybrid Lamborghini Temerario.

  1. Jaguar F-TYPE

Granted, Jaguar’s radical refresh riled up many of the brand’s most devoted fans. Along with the brand’s new style and a fully electric concept car, Jaguar killed the XF, E-PACE, and I-PACE before the 2025 model year. However, the Jaguar F-TYPE also failed to escape the market’s guillotine.

However, the F-TYPE’s ten-year tenure leaves plenty of used performance vehicle bargains on the table. For instance, shrewd shoppers can find an early-build F-TYPE base model and F-TYPE S with a supercharged V6 for Honda Civic prices.
