The wait is over, Ford Mustang fans. The new Shelby Mustang will make its debut at the Barrett-Jackson Auctions in Palm Beach, Florida. It’s a big deal for Shelby American and the Ford Mustang. Most notably, this will be the first new Shelby Mustang of its kind on the seventh-generation (S650) Ford Mustang platform. Oh, happy days.

The first new Shelby Mustang on the S650 platform, possibly the first of the latest Super Snakes,  will make its debut at Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach 2024

12 years after Shelby American revealed a Super Snake treatment for the iconic post-facelift S197 Shelby GT500, the American performance icon is unveiling yet another Shelby first. Specifically, Shelby American is debuting its first touches on the seventh-generation (S650) Ford Mustang. It’s the first time you’ll see a Shelby badge on a seventh-gen Mustang since the model took over from the S550 after the 2013 model year.

What’s more, the unveiling will be at the Barrett-Jackson Auctions in Palm Beach, Florida on April 18, 2024. It’s a momentous opportunity for two reasons. The first: it’s just one day after the revolutionary Ford Mustang made its public debut at the Flushing Meadows New York World’s Fair in 1964.

Additionally, it’s yet another opportunity for Shelby American to unveil a new, souped-up Ford Mustang at a Barrett-Jackson event. For instance, the Super Snake treatment for the S197 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 (2013-2014) debuted at a Barrett-Jackson venue. Not that the post-facelift S197 GT500 needed much; the stock Mustang Shelby GT500 was the first factory Ford Mustang with a 200-mph top speed. That’s supercar numbers.
