The 2024 Lexus IS is a competitive compact luxury sedan with a wide variety in its model range. The IS can be a humble yet modern luxury car at a reasonable price, a fire-breathing sport sedan with V8 power, or anything in between. There’s an IS for just about everyone.

Let’s look at the cost of the latest Lexus IS iteration. We’ll also examine what you can expect to pay for a fully loaded example.

The entry-level 2024 Lexus IS 350

The 2024 Lexus IS has a starting MSRP of $40,085. That gets you the base IS 300 with rear-wheel drive. Power comes from a 241-horsepower turbocharged inline-four engine. Standard features in the base model include NuLuxe faux leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, power front seats, LED headlights and taillights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and an 8-inch touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and SiriusXM.

The standard Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 safety tech suite bundles features like automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, and road sign assist.

The F Sport Design trim, starting at $41,905, adds a sporty appearance package to the Lexus IS. Additionally, it adds a sport-tuned suspension and heated front seats. Other than that, the F Sport Design trim features are essentially the same as the base trim.

Then there’s the F Sport trim, which starts at $43,155. In addition to the appearance package that comes with the F Sport Design model, it adds upgraded F Sport seats with generous bolstering, four-way adjustable headrests, and lumbar control for the driver. They’re also heated and cooled in front. Other features include a heated steering wheel, black geometric interior trim, aluminum sport pedals, a rear center armrest, rain-sensing wipers, an auto-dimming mirror with HomeLink, active sound control, performance-inspired instrumentation, and a cold air intake.

IS 300 models with AWD employ a 260-hp V6 engine. Other than those mechanical differences, standard and available features are identical to their RWD counterparts. IS 350 models starting at $43,260 use a more muscular V6 producing 311 horsepower. This engine is only available in F Sport Design and F Sport trims.

The cost of entry for V8 power in the IS 500 F Sport Performance is $58,870. It’s more than just an engine upgrade, which is a 472-hp V8. It also adds 19-inch Enkei wheels, an F Sport-tuned adaptive variable suspension system, Yamaha rear performance dampers, more drive modes including Sport S+, a Torsen limited-slip differential, stacked quad exhaust tips, upgraded brakes, F Sport Performance scuff plates, a Satin Trim interior, a power moonroof, and the intuitive parking assist system.

What’s added to the 2024 Lexus IS F-Sport Performance Premium?

The top trim of the Lexus IS is the IS 500 F Sport Performance Premium, starting at $63,370. It brings more luxury to the IS 500. Standard features include a power rear sunshade, triple-beam LED headlights, a 10.3-inch touchscreen with navigation, a Mark Levinson 17-speaker audio system, and a panoramic view monitor.

When you add one of the priciest premium paint options (Infrared or Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0 for $595) and 19-inch matte black BBS wheels ($2,450), the total cost of a fully loaded 2024 Lexus IS is $67,565. That includes the mandatory $1,150 destination fee.

Is the Lexus IS a good luxury car model?

Spending more than $60k on a Lexus compact sedan might sound like a lot. However, the Lexus IS 500 is priced similarly to compact luxury sedans in the same class with similar performance. Its closest rivals are sports sedans like the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing at $61,495, the Audi RS 3 at $61,700, and the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 at $57,800.

In typical Lexus fashion, the Lexus IS is a substantial luxury car value throughout its whole model range.
