The BMW X3 is a wildly popular compact SUV from the German luxury automaker, slotting between the subcompact X1 and midsize X5 with a more traditional body style over the fastback-styled X4. As is the case with most models in the automaker’s lineup, there are mainstream versions of the X3 available and a performance-tuned M version.

So, how much can car shoppers expect to pay for a new X3, from its bare entry-level offering to its top trim with add-ons? Here’s how much a fully loaded 2024 BMW X3 costs.

The 2024 BMW X3 starts at $46,900 MSRP

The rumor mill was swirling that the 2024 BMW X3 would be a completely revamped model, with the current generation dating back to the 2018 model year. However, the X3 rides into 2024 with no major updates. Still, it remains a compelling choice in the luxury compact SUV fray.

The 2024 X3 is available in three trims. The base model can be had with front-wheel drive, known as the sDrive30i, or the xDrive30i with all-wheel drive. The midrange M40i and sporty X3 M are also available.

The base X3 sDrive30i starts at $46,900, while upgrading to all-wheel drive tacks on an additional $2,000.

The standard X3 is powered by a 2.0-liter twin-turbo inline-four engine developing 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and launch control. BMW claims a 0-60 mph time of 6 seconds.

Standard exterior features include 19-inch Ferric Grey wheels, power-folding and heated side mirrors, roof rails, a roof spoiler, chrome exhaust tips, and a Satin Aluminum exterior trim.

The cabin sports synthetic leather upholstery, an Anthracite headliner, a cargo cover, wood trim, a 12-speaker sound system with satellite radio, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and 10.25-inch center display, navigation, and dual USB ports. Other standard kit includes a power liftgate, dual-zone automatic climate control, universal garage door opener, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Additionally, all models sport automatic high beams, front and rear parking sensors, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and a speed limit display.

The X3 M adds a big boost in power for a significant price hike

Those seeking additional power can opt for the midrange 2024 BMW X3 M40i with its six-cylinder engine cranking out 382 horsepower. Still, the ultimate performance of the compact SUV is the range-topping X3 M.

The 2024 BMW X3 M starts at $75,500 and is motivated by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six delivering 473 horsepower with standard all-wheel drive. BMW claims the most powerful X3 model will scoot from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds.

In addition to a boost in power, the X3 M sports performance tuning for its steering, braking, suspension, and exhaust. Other upgrades include 20-inch wheels, adaptive LED headlights, carbon fiber interior trim, and ambient interior lighting.

Options and accessories for the 2024 BMW X3

Available add-ons for the 2024 BMW X3 are mostly dependent on trim, and all offer accessories like upgraded floor mats, a drive recorder camera system, and other add-ons. A host of stand-alone options are also available, dependent on trim, like remote engine start ($300), a trailer hitch ($600), a head-up display ($1,100), and a Harman Kardon surround sound system ($875).

The base model can be fitted with the M Sport exterior package ($2,150), which includes more aggressively styled body panels, an M steering wheel, and Midnight Grey wheels.

Only Alpine White and Jet Black exterior paints are standard on the sDrive30i, but several optional hues are available from $650 to $1,500. A selection of 20-inch wheels are available for $600, while 21-inch wheels are offered for $1,550 ($1,250 for the X3 M). Buyers can also opt for Vernasca leather upholstery in four colors for an additional $1,500. The X3 M sports Venasca leather as standard, and buyers can upgrade to Merino leather for an additional $1,000.

The Dynamic Handling Package ($1,400) adds M sport brakes with blue or red calipers, dynamic dampers, and variable sport steering. The Driving Assistance Professional Package ($1,700) includes a host of driver aids like adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assist, and more. A Parking Assist Package is also available for $700 and includes a surround-view camera and 3D view with an automatic parking assist feature.

The M40i can be had with the $1,350 Premium Package, which adds heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a head-up display.

The X3 M can be upgraded with the $7,000 Competition Package. It includes a choice of 21-inch wheels, Merino leather, an M Sport active exhaust system, more aggressive styling for the front fascia and black chrome tailpipe finishers, and M sport seats and seat belts.

All in, a 2024 BMW X3 M with all available packages, all non-conflicting accessories, optional paint, and BMW’s most expensive maintenance and warranty package rings in at $104,354.
