The BMW i-series of vehicles have been going head-to-head with the best in the electric vehicle market segment. The iX, i5, and i7 cover a wide range of the EV market, but the BMW i4 is one of the most popular in recent years due to its size, performance, and affordability.

While the BMW i4 is the most affordable EV in the BMW lineup as a compact executive sedan, this doesn’t mean you are consigned to a base model experience. The i4, like many other vehicles in the BMW lineup, gives drivers a wide range of options to tailor their i4 to their needs. If you want to get behind the wheel of a BMW i4 EV this year, look no further. Here is how much you can expect to spend on a base model i4 and a fully loaded i4.

The entry-level 2024 BMW i4 eDrive35

The base model of the 2024 BMW i4 compact electric executive car is the eDrive35 model, which starts at $52,200 MSRP, according to BMW. The eDrive35 comes standard with a 282 horsepower, single-motor drivetrain, which sends all the power to the rear wheels. With the eDrive35 model, you are getting the smallest range available, with an estimated 256 miles of range, according to U.S. News.

This base model i4 is no slouch in the interior, with a standard 14.9-inch touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital gauge clutter. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a whopping four USB ports as standard equipment. Synthetic leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, a power liftgate, and a moonroof are also all offered as standard equipment on this most affordable version of the i4. Regarding safety, the i4 eDrive35 is well adorned with blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and more.

The performance and pricing of the 2024 BMW i4 M50

If you want a true BMW M-series experience in a compact EV sedan, look no further than the BMW i4 M50. The M50 starts at $69,700 MSRP, and for that price, you get an EV that lives up to its M performance badge. The M50 comes standard with a dual motor drivetrain, good for 536 horsepower sent to all four wheels. This power propels the M50 to a 0 to 60 mph time in just 3.7 seconds. The M50 also comes with a 269-mile range, which is slightly less than the eDrive40’s 301 miles, but it is well worth it to some for the extra power. Because the M50 is the performance variant of the i4, you can expect upgraded M Sport brakes, adaptive suspension, and a variable-ratio steering setup.

In the interior of the M50, you get everything found on the base model eDrive35, but you also get tri-zone climate control and a comprehensive list of optional features and accessory packages.

2024 BMW i4 M50 accessories and add-ons

If you are looking to get behind the wheel of a fully loaded 2024 BMW i4 M50, you can expect to spend around $82,650. To get to this final price tag, we took the BMW i4 M50 price of $69,700 MSRP and added premium Frozen Portimao Blue metallic paint for $3,600, black Vernasca leather with contrast stitching for another $1,500, and interior carbon fiber trim for $300. A high-performance tire package costs another $2,500, and a driving assistance professional package costs $1,700.

The parking assistance package is $700, and the premium interior package is $1,650. Finally, a Shadowline exterior package is added for an extra $400, and a BMW wall box charger is added for $600. You can expect to pay quite a bit for a fully loaded i4 M50, but it is just about the best you can get on the market today for such a premium compact luxury EV.
