If you’re looking for something different, off the beaten path of the common crossover, Volvo has something for you in the form of the V90 Cross Country wagon. It’s a stylish vehicle that makes a practical family hauler and a luxurious grand tourer. It offers a good mix of performance and fuel economy and is one of the safest vehicles in its class. So, with that in mind, how much does a fully loaded Volvo V90 Cross Country cost? Additionally, what are the differences between the base model and the fully loaded trim?

How much is the base Volvo V90 Cross Country?

The base Volvo V90 Cross Country B6 Plus starts at $58,450 and includes standard blind spot and lane departure warnings, an accident avoidance system with lane keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and driver attention alert. Front side-mounted and front and rear head airbags are also standard, as are traction and stability control.

Inside, the infotainment system includes a 220-watt AM/FM stereo with 10 speakers, smartphone integration with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a USB connection with external media control. Other features include hands-free entry, keyless ignition/remote start, adaptive cruise control, and standard leather upholstery. Also included are a panoramic sunroof, an eight-way power driver seat, passenger seats with adjustable height and lumbar support, and multi-level heating.

The powertrain includes a 2.0-liter four-cylinder mild hybrid setup that produces a total of 295 horsepower, while the drivetrain features all-wheel drive.

2023 Volvo V90 Cross Country packages

The B6 Plus and B6 Ultimate are available with a Climate package with heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and headlamp washers. The Climate Pro includes those options and integrated two outer position booster cushions in the second row for smaller children. The All-Weather package includes rubber floor mats, a plastic luggage mat, and a first aid kit.

Is the Volvo V90 Cross Country a good wagon?

There are few wagons in the marketplace, but the Volvo V90 Cross Country is one of the best. It offers a spacious interior and a long list of standard features. Performance is good, and it’s enjoyable to drive. Also, being a Volvo, it has an abundance of standard safety features. Car and Driver says, “The vehicle of choice for upscale but quirky families looking to avoid SUV monotony.”

U.S. News ranks it at No. 4 out of a field of six, behind the Audi A4 and A6 Allroad wagons and Volvo’s own V70. It scored well compared to the class leaders but lost points for a smaller cargo space and an infotainment system that is less intuitive than other vehicles.
