Mechanic escapes from Jeep Wrangler in West Virginia
A mechanic was busy working away at the Nitro Auto and Tire Service shop on Michigan Avenue when he suddenly needed the fire department’s help.
As he worked on the Wrangler, a gas fire ignited. The entire SUV went up in flames in a matter of seconds, filling the shop with thick smoke.
Luckily, the mechanic made it to safety without any injuries. But the Wrangler has been declared a total loss, and the building experienced smoke damage. The SUV has been reduced to a black, charred frame.
The garage is filled with gasoline and other vehicles, making it too difficult to move the Wrangler out of the garage. Firefighters had to contain it inside.
Firefighters used foam to smother the flames. Fire departments from Kanawha and Putnam Counties worked together to get control of the blaze.

According to WSAZ, there is an ongoing investigation to determine the cause of the fire. It’s unclear what caused the gas to light up.
It’s unclear if the shop will be closed for repairs. I’m assuming that the mechanic involved in the fire at least got a day off to recover. The situation was probably exhausting.
