The 2023 BMW X1 was the best luxury SUV in the subcompact category

In the subcompact luxury SUV category, Kelley Blue Book thought the 2023 BMW X1 was the best of the bunch. It offers an updated look and plenty of technology to make driving easier. All-wheel drive comes standard on all trim levels, and the turbo engine is better than ever. The 2023 X1 starts at $39,100 and has a $995 destination fee.

Making Kelley Blue Book’s Best Buy Awards list for the first time, BMW included blind-spot warning, forward collision warning, and a new safe exit system. While those are standard, some optional features include Traffic Jam Assistant for hands-free driving in slow traffic on some highways.

The turbo four-cylinder gets 241 hp for 2023, 13 more than last year. It also has 295 lb-ft of torque over last year’s 258. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission offers a smooth ride.

Genesis offers a ten-year, 100,000-mile warranty on the engine and drivetrain. Bumper-to-bumper coverage runs for five years or 60,000 miles. A limited-slip rear differential and electric traction/stability control make driving the GV70 comfortable. When it comes to midsize luxury SUVs, the 2023 Genesis GV80 has the most to offer. Inside, the GV80 has a spacious and luxurious cabin, and that previously mentioned class-leading warranty doesn’t hurt. This is the third time this vehicle has landed on the Best Buy list, thanks to the addition of many standard features for which the competition charges a lot.

Most of the Genesis SUVs are configured with two rows, but buyers can add the third row from the factory. If you add the Advanced Package, leather seating, ventilated front seats, and a surround-view monitor are included. The Prestige Package adds Nappa leather seats, a suede headliner, and heated/ventilated second-row seats.

Buyers can opt for the base engine or upgrade to the twin-turbo V6 with 375 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque. Either one comes with all-wheel drive, making it suitable for those in colder climates.
