It looks like the newest Porsche Macan will hit showrooms later this year. The German automaker has built up a lot of brand loyalty over the years thanks to its luxurious, reliable vehicles. The 2020 Macan Turbo will be the latest addition to its lineup.

For Porsche fans who want to get an up-close and personal view of the car, Roadshow predicts it will be unveiled next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show. If you can’t attend, there’s still a lot of info about the car online. Porsche recently gave us an update about the vehicle specifications, what’s new for this model, and how much it will cost.

The 2020 Porsche Macan Turbo’s interior design

Porsche completely updated the inside of the Macan for 2019, and this carries over into the 2020 version. Its seats are made of partial leather upholstery and do a great job of supporting the driver. Upgrades like heated and ventilated seats are also available.

Like many Porsches, the back seats don’t have as much legroom for passengers as the front. But the option for heated, adjustable backseats is available to give the people who aren’t riding shotgun a little extra comfort.

Tech features

The infotainment selection also got an update for 2019. Drivers can enjoy a sleek and responsive 10.9-inch touchscreen at the center of the dashboard, which operates the Porsche Communication Management program. Standard features include Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, satellite radio, voice control, four USB ports, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Safety features like lane departure and assist, a backup camera, and parking sensors are included.

The 2020 Porsche Macan Turbo will also come with the option to include the Sport Chrono performance package. It enhances the new Turbo’s power with some added features including a Sport Response button, mode switch, and launch control.

The 2020 Porsche Macan Turbo’s new engine

The most impressive part of the 2020 Macan Turbo is its powerful engine. Like the 2019 Macan S, it’s a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6, but this one gets better horsepower. It’s capable of 434 hp and 404 lb-ft of torque. This gives it an acceleration time of 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 4.3 seconds.

If drivers decide to buy the available performance package, this number descends to 4.1 seconds. It’s still too early for fuel economy testing, but if its engine performs like previous models, expect a score of 19 MPG on city roads and 23 MPG on the highway.

Cost

The 2020 Porsche Macan Turbo will cost around $83,000 — not bad for the luxury brand. For a similar cost, you can buy the Porsche Cayenne at $66,800. This midsize SUV will appeal to those who need more room. However, while its base engine is a turbo V6 with an output of 335 hp, it’s still not as powerful as the 2020 Macan’s twin-turbo engine.

The 2020 Macan will have some competition in the compact luxury car market, particularly with the Jaguar F-Pace. With a similar price tag of $79,990, this model has many engine options, including a powerful 550 hp V8 engine. All of the engines have good acceleration times and excellent fuel economy ratings. The base engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged 247 hp engine that gets 22 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on highway roads.

However, its interior isn’t as stylish as the 2020 Macan, and its infotainment system isn’t nearly as polished. The refined nature of the newest Porsche Macan Turbo will definitely give it a leg up over the competition.
