The BMW 3 Series is a long-time standard-bearer in compact luxury cars. It’s famous for its inimitable balance of performance, luxury, and style with little compromise. The 3 Series continues this reputation in the 2024 model year with several desirable variants available.

Let’s look at the cost of the BMW 3 Series and what you can expect to pay for a fully loaded example.

How much does a 2024 BMW 3 Series cost?

The 2024 BMW 3 Series has a base MSRP of $44,500. That gets you the 330i model powered by a 255-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and the xDrive all-wheel-drive system is a $2,000 option. The EPA estimates a combined fuel economy rating of 29 mph with RWD and 27 mpg with AWD.

Standard features in the 330i include 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a power sunroof, SensaTec faux leather upholstery, a memory driver’s seat, an Anthracite headliner, open-pore wood interior trim, a BMW Curved Display, and the Active Guard safety feature with automatic emergency braking and frontal collision warning.

The 330e plug-in hybrid model is priced very closely to the 330i with a starting MSRP of $45,600. The plug-in hybrid powertrain makes 288 hp and gets an estimated all-electric range of 22 miles. Other than the powertrain and the hybrid-specific instrument cluster, its standard features are almost identical to the 330i.

The sportier M340i, starting at $57,600, is the one to get if you want an exciting sport sedan but don’t have an M3 budget. Power comes from a turbocharged six-cylinder engine rated at 382 hp. Additional performance upgrades include an M Sport suspension system, M Sport brakes, an M Sport differential, and a variable sport steering system. With both RWD and AWD, it returns 26 combined mpg.

The BMW M3 begins at $76,000. This sport sedan is powered by a 473-hp turbo inline-6 that returns 19 mpg. This is the only variant of the 3 Series with a traditional 6-speed manual transmission, and it’s only available with rear-wheel drive. You also get an adaptive M suspension system and M Sport seats.

How much does a fully loaded 2024 BMW 3 Series cost?

The legendary M3 is still a stellar sport sedan, but an even better (and more expensive) M3 is available. The M3 Competition starts at $80,200. It has a unique tuning of the M3 engine, turning the horsepower rating up to 503 hp.

You can add many expensive options to the M3 Competition to push its price tag well over the six-figure mark. All-wheel drive is a $4,100 option, cutting the 0-60 mph time to 3.4 seconds.

Additional options include several premium paint options ranging from $650 to $3,600, a Driving Assistance Professional Package ($1,700), a Parking Assistance Package ($700), an Executive Package ($1,700), M carbon bucket seats ($4,500), an M Carbon Exterior Package ($4,700), M Carbon Ceramic brakes ($8,500), aluminum interior trim ($1,080), and more.

If you add as many options as possible, the grand total of a fully loaded M3 Competition xDrive comes to $118,875. That includes the $995 destination fee.

Is a fully loaded 2024 BMW 3 Series worth it?

A fully loaded BMW M3 Competition is worth the cost for enthusiasts with deep pockets. However, the variety in the 3 Series model range ensures a 3 Series for anyone in the market for a compact luxury sedan.
