The Chevy Equinox continues to be one of the most popular compact SUVs on the market. How much will you pay for one in 2024 both for the entry-level trim and the top tiered model when it’s fully loaded with all the bells and whistles? Here’s what you can expect the price tag to be.

What the Chevy Equinox base trim offers consumers

All trim levels of the 2024 Chevy Equinox come with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. When it comes to the base model, both versions are relatively the same. Each drivetrain comes with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 175 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque. Paired with it is a standard six-speed shiftable automatic transmission.

According to Edmunds, the cargo space for both is 29.9 cu-ft behind the rear seats and 63.9 cu-ft when you fold down the last row of seats. Features are also the same including 17-inch wheels, all-season tires, 4-wheel ABS, a six-speaker audio system, lane-keeping assist, pre and post-collision systems, and stability control.

Besides the drivetrain, there are a few differences between the two versions. The front-wheel drive model offers 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, while the AWD version gives you 24 mpg on city roads and 30 mpg when traveling on the highway.

The FWD model offers 1,500 lbs of towing capacity as well as 1,190 lbs. of payload capability. Its AWD version pulls the same amount for towing but only has 1,165 lbs of payload capacity. Also, the fuel tank for the AWD model holds 15.6 gallons, which is .7 gallons more than the FWD version.

The starting price of the LS FWD model is $27,995, according to Chevy’s website. If you choose the AWD version, you can expect to pay a starting price of $29,595.

How much will a fully loaded Chevy Equinox cost?

To determine the Equinox’s fully loaded price, we have to begin with the top trim, which is the Premier. This model starts at $33,195 for the front-wheel drive version and $34,795 for the AWD model. As for standard equipment, you can expect to get the same 1.5-liter engine and transmission as the LS version offers on both the FWD and AWD versions.

When it comes to differences, there are a few noteworthy items to consider. The FWD model offers a 14.9-gallon tank (15.6 for the AWD) and the payload capacity is 1,114 lbs (1,118 lbs on the AWD version). As far as gross weight goes, the AWD model weighs 166 lbs more than the FWD version, which makes the curb weight 162 lbs more on the all-wheel drivetrain. The AWD model also offers a center-limited slip differential, which you won’t see with the FWD version.

As for features, both offer 18-inch wheels with all-season tires, front and rear ventilated disc brakes, leather seating, an eight-way adjustable driver’s seat, a manually adjustable passenger seat,  rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure crash avoidance system, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

What accessories and packages can you get with this compact SUV?

If you take the top Premier AWD trim, you’ll find plenty of accessories and packages to add to your purchase. The list includes items such as:

To calculate what a fully loaded Premier AWD model would cost, we take the starting price of $34,795 and add the $9,220 for all the accessories and packages combined. Then we add the $1,395 for the destination charge and we get a grand total of $45,410. This doesn’t include your taxes and other fees.
