Georgia man shot while pumping gas in the middle of the night
On May 1, a man in South Fulton, Georgia, was gunned down at a Shell gas station at around midnight. Witnesses and security cameras say three men jumped out of a gray Audi, aimed at the man, and fired multiple shots at him.
Despite being shot, the man fled and ran into a good Samaritan, who called the police.
Police arrived shortly after and found the man lying next to a black Dodge Charger. An ambulance rushed him to the hospital. As of May 2, the victim is in critical condition, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Tenisha Campbell, the owner of Trusty Transporters, seemed like the only local shocked by the shooting. She felt concerned for her drivers, other residents, and what the shooting is a symptom of.
“It’s actually concerning because I’m here every Tuesday and Thursday with my transportation company, and I stop at this gas station often. I thought it was safe, so it’s concerning,” she told FOX 5.
Many were surprised that the shooting happened with cameras around
Campbell said the shooters must have been desperate if they were willing to risk being caught on high-definition cameras.
“It’s bold. It’s bold to do that. With so much traffic and cameras out here, it’s bold to do that. It just shows how desperate people are nowadays,” she said.
Howard Chennault didn’t seem surprised in the least, especially as more reports of robberies and assault cases flood local news channels.
“Things are happening in broad daylight now,” he said. “That’s why I try to tell my sister and people I know to get gas earlier in the day. There’s always someone lurking around.”
