Yes, parts of this truck’s design are out of step with modern standards, and the fuel economy numbers barely break into double digits. But the Ram 1500 TRX remains an elite off-roader. This supercharged variant of the traditional 1500 pickup delivers jaw-dropping power to conquer the toughest trails. But all that horsepower comes at a hefty price, even before adding available options. Here’s how much a fully loaded 2023 Ram 1500 TRX costs.

You won’t find a more powerful pickup than the Ram 1500 TRX

The TRX’s main draw is its Hellcat engine. This 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 harnesses 702 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Unfortunately, the 2023 Ram 1500 TRX guzzles gas. EPA-estimated fuel economy for this thirsty beast is 11 mpg combined.

Four-wheel drive comes standard, and the suspension has the chops to handle deep sand at high speeds. The TRX also boasts seven drive modes — Baja, Rock, Mud/Sand, Custom, Tow, Snow, and Sport — and 18-inch wheels with 35-inch tires to help it adapt to diverse terrains.

Inside, expect a 12-inch Uconnect touchscreen, a 10-speaker sound system, and 68.5 cubic feet of cargo space. The TRX is only available with 4×4, a Crew Cab, and a 5-foot-7-inch box, linking this truck with the Tradesman HFE as the only 1500 models without drivetrain or cab options.

Pricing for the 2023 TRX starts at $84,355.

The TRX is a rare vehicle with no trim levels

This truck also stands out for its lack of trim levels. That brings drawbacks and benefits.

On the one hand, buyers lose the option to upgrade to tiers that bundle higher-end features or stick with lower trims at more affordable prices.

On the other hand, customers know what they’re getting upfront with a single trim. One of the downsides of myriad trims à la the 2023 Kia Telluride is that all the model variants with slightly different names and lists of features can confuse shoppers. Buying a TRX is straightforward.

Still, Ram offers plenty of ways to personalize this truck. Indeed, buyers could spend nearly $110,000 for a fully loaded 2023 Ram 1500 TRX with every package and accessory.

Add $25,000 in options for a fully loaded 2023 Ram 1500 TRX

You can build a fully loaded 2023 Ram 1500 TRX on the automaker’s website. The process shows the various options to change the truck’s capabilities, comfort, and aesthetics.

Four packages add software and hardware upgrades that improve the driving experience. Prices range from $995 for the Advanced Safety Group to $10,995 for the TRX Level 2 Equipment Group. The former includes lane-keep assist, pedestrian emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, and a tailgate-ajar warning lamp. The latter brings 38 advanced driver-assistance features and amenities like a 19-speaker Harmon Kardon Premium sound system, keyless entry, a heated steering wheel, ventilated seats, and ParkSense parking assistance tech.

The most expensive TRX accessories are the RamBar and beadlock-capable wheels for $1,895 each. You can also add a sunroof and red interior accents for $1,495 each. A running board runs $1,195, and rock rails cost $995. Or pick a premium exterior paint for $200 or $250.

The TRX presents a total of 18 optional extras. You can’t combine some in the same build due to duplicate features. Still, you can select most to get every bell and whistle Ram offers.

If you add the maximum number of options and the $1,995 destination charge, expect a fully loaded 2023 Ram 1500 TRX to cost north of $109,000. That’s almost $25,000 over the base price.
