The 2023 Lexus LS Hybrid is one of the most luxurious full-size and fuel-efficient sedans in the market. Considering its rear-seat accouterments, it’s far better to be driven in an LS Hybrid than to drive it. But if you have to, the LS Hybrid is the way to go. That said, the car has a high buy-in price, which goes much higher when you load it up with all of the options.

Here’s an overview of the 2023 Lexus LS trim levels

Before we get into how much a loaded Lexus LS costs, it’s important to know the bottom price. Anyone shopping for an LS will have an easy time since there are only three different trim levels to choose from:

  • LS 500: $78,535 (RWD) / $81,785 (AWD)
  • LS 500 F Sport: $82,135 (RWD) / $85,385 (AWD)
  • LS 500h: $114,635

The bottom two trim levels are not hybrid models. Instead, the standard LS 500 and LS 500 F Sport are powered by a turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 engine that makes 416 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. That’s plenty of power to move the large sedan, but it’s not as fuel-efficient as the hybrid model. The gas-powered models get an EPA-estimated 18 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, and 17/27, respectively, for the AWD configuration.

Interestingly, the Lexus LS 500h can get up to 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, which isn’t a huge jump in fuel efficiency. However, the editors at Car and Driver got 30 mpg in the LS 500h during their 200-mile road test. That’s impressive, considering the LS 500h weighs over 5,000 pounds and is motivated by a 354-hp V6 hybrid powertrain.

Fuel efficiency isn’t the main highlight of the Lexus LS 500h. Some of the most notable features include real wood trim, a Mark Levinson premium audio system, semi-aniline leather upholstery, and adjustable power seats. Unfortunately, you can get the Executive luxury package with the LS 500h.

As stated before, the 2023 Lexus LS 500h has a starting price of $114,635. When playing around with the Lexus configurator, we were surprised that all eight of the paint options did not come with an added cost. The same can’t be said about the interior, though.

There are four different interior leather color options to select from. However, you have to opt for the Haku door trim, which costs an extra $1,200. After that, optional 20-inch 10-spoke wheels with black accents are available for an additional $40, which is a downright bargain.

No other packages are available, but there are many accessories like all-weather floor mats, a cargo net, a dash cam, and illuminated door sills that buyers can tack onto the car. After adding every accessory and option available for the LS 500h, the final price came out to $118,255.

Unless you really need those little accessories, saving money and going with the base Lexus LS 500h is wise. However, we will admit that saving $4,000 on a $114,000 car isn’t going to put a dent in the lease payments.

That said, you could be better off opting for all of these accessories so you know you got what you wanted from the Lexus LS hybrid. This includes the fuel efficiency, standard features, and power it offers.
