That’s not common, so there must be something excellent about the most expensive version of the SUV. Buying the Telluride SX will run you $44,625, while the LX base model starts at just $34,725. Why are people choosing the fully-loaded trim over the most affordable options?

Choosing the most popular Telluride trim gets owners a wide variety of equipment. Features like dual sunroofs, a larger 7-inch instrument cluster display, an upgraded driver’s seat, a 10-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a blind-spot view monitor, and a surround-view camera system are standard. In addition, the available SX Prestige package provides premium leather, a head-up display, heated and ventilated second-row seats, a heated steering wheel, a 110-volt outlet, and customizable interior ambient lighting.

Moreover, the publication suggests that “most people” will be happy with it. We can’t disagree, as it provides excellent value with plenty of standard features, including ones for safety. In addition, the 10.25-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and automatic climate control are nice for under $35,000.

However, C/D recommends buying the most popular Telluride SX model. Furthermore, the reviewer says the Telluride remains a great value even in its most expensive form. The range-topper has a 12-way power driver’s seat, black-painted 20-inch rims, a Harman Kardon stereo, front and rear sunroofs, and second-row captain’s chairs. Finally, C/D recommends buying the SX Prestige package, the contents of which we went over earlier.

In conclusion, one expert thinks the most popular version of the 2022 Kia Telluride is also the best. However, the other does not. What’s even more incredible is how different the two experts’ opinions are. One suggests buying the cheapest base LX trim, which doesn’t come nearly as well-equipped. The other thinks you should buy the Telluride’s most expensive, fully-loaded version.

We think the base model of the midsize SUV is the best option if you’re not interested in all the bells and whistles. One of the reasons the Telluride is such a well-reviewed model is its immense value. Whether buyers opt for the base model or a mid-tier version, they’ll get ample technology, safety, convenience, and comfort features. There isn’t really a wrong choice in the Telluride lineup, but we think the base LX provides the most value. Experts don’t recommend the most popular 2022 Kia Telluride trim.
