First, Edmunds recommends buying the 2023 Ram 1500 Laramie trim above all other models. As a mid-tier model in the lineup, it starts at $54,470, roughly $15,000 more than the Tradesman base model. However, it also saves buyers roughly $10,000 compared to the fully loaded Limited trim. There are a few reasons this expert thinks it’s the Ram 1500 to buy. “There’s a healthy amount of standard equipment as well as access to countless powertrain and other options,” Edmunds said.

Furthermore, the Laramie trim adds a lot of standard features to the plentiful Ram 1500 lineup. In addition to the Big Horn features, it turns toward luxury. For example, remote engine start, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, heated/ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, satellite radio, Wi-Fi access, Ram Connect services, a nine-speaker audio system, forward collision mitigation, and LED headlights are some of the best features. This is the most affordable trim that has many luxurious features that turn the Ram 1500 into a top-tier full-size pickup.

Next, Car and Driver recommend a different version of the 2023 Ram 1500. This expert believes the Rebel trim is the best one to buy. Starting at $55,285, it’s just a little more costly than the Laramie trim. Additionally, the performance model is affordable, compared to the TRX at least. C/D says it would also option in a few different things to order its Ram 1500 Rebel. For example, a crew cab, four-wheel drive, the V8 engine, and an air suspension, which requires the Level 1 or Level 2 package.

Getting the Level 2 package is the way to go. Buyers get access to remote start, a 115-volt power outlet, front and rear parking sensors, power-adjustable pedals, and hands-free entry. More options include the Safety and Convenience package, adding adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, and lane-keeping assist. Finally, a multi-function tailgate is worth the extra cash, and it comes with a spray-in bed liner.

What is the best 2023 Ram 1500 trim?

Buying a full-size truck is challenging because everyone wants something different. We think the 2023 Ram 1500 Laramie is the better option for most buyers. However, that certainly doesn’t make the Rebel a poor selection. Buying the Laramie trim gets owners everything they could want with a pickup, plus some seriously luxurious features. Opting for the Rebel trim is more for those looking for performance in driving rather than functionality. Additionally, it’s a little expensive and adds some features many people may not find useful.
