The cheapest hybrid SUV is surprisingly affordable. Surprisingly, even the fully loaded version isn’t out of reach for the average consumer. Hybrid vehicles are taking over the industry and becoming more affordable and more efficient than ever before. How much is the most affordable fully-loaded hybrid SUV?

Chevy’s Bolt EUV Premier Redline starts at $33,790, making 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, the subcompact SUV has an estimated 247 miles of range.

Chevy Bolt EUV Premier Redline models come standard with perforated leather-appointed seat trim, ventilated front seats, and a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel. It also includes wireless device charging, ambient door lighting, and keyless open/start. Top-of-the-line Bolt EUV models have wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a tire pressure monitoring system, and adaptive cruise control.

Chevrolet’s affordable, fully-loaded hybrid SUV is well-equipped for its starting price. The 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EUV Premier Redline is also eligible for a federal electric vehicle tax incentive, bringing its price closer to $26,290. In terms of value, there are few true rivals in its segment.

Unfortunately, the Bolt EUV is being discontinued. All versions of the model won’t make it past 2023 because of battery fire issues. Despite being reintroduced, General Motors decided that the nameplate just couldn’t bounce back from its mass recall.

Is the Chevy Bolt EUV Premier Redline worth the money?

Chevy’s Bolt EUV Premier Redline configuration provides great value for the money, including a long list of standard features. The range-topping Bolt comes at a price that doesn’t break the bank and has great driving range.

If the Chevrolet Bolt EUV’s shaky history or reliability is offputting, another affordable fully loaded hybrid SUV model on the market hasn’t had many major mechanical issues. A South Korean subcompact hybrid SUV is the next-most affordable model in its segment, following the 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EUV.

Kia’s Niro SX Touring starts at $34,890. It uses a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor to make 139 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. SX Touring models achieve 53 miles per gallon in the city and 45 miles per gallon on the highway, making it incredibly affordable for the value it provides.

Top-of-the-line Niro models come standard with a smart key with push-button/remote start, a smart power tailgate, and a wireless phone charger. Also included are smart cruise control with stop-and-go, front and rear parking sensors, and lane keeping/following assist.

Next, the 2023 Kia Niro SX Touring has roof rails, a power sunroof, and a Harman Kardon premium audio system. It also comes with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, safe exit warning, and blind spot detection technology.

Hybrid SUVs are more affordable than ever before. They’re accessible and arguably better deals than many of their internal combustion engine counterparts. Are we currently witnessing the beginning of the mass hybridization of the automotive industry, or are hybrids still the ugly ducklings of the automotive world?
