Car thief steals an ambulance and rams parked cars [Video]
There’s an old proverb about theft. “Opportunity makes the thief.” In this case, the opportunity was an unattended driver’s seat in an ambulance. But the car thief didn’t take the emergency vehicle very far. Instead, he used it as a huge, heavy battering ram.
A shocking social media video shows a crazed car thief steal an ambulance and flatten parked cars with it
An Instagram video shows a white, type-1 ambulance sitting nose-to-nose with a silver Chevrolet Impala. A moment later, the driver floors it, ramming the Impala up and over a grassy median. But this wasn’t some disgruntled EMT or paramedic resigning in the most destructive way possible. No, this was the unhinged act of a car thief behind the wheel of a big, heavy emergency vehicle.
The car thief didn’t stop, either. He kept pushing, sending the silver Impala crashing down onto the hood and roofline of another car. The weight of both cars didn’t slow the ambulance down. He kept ramming the parked cars forward, eventually slamming them into a parked GMC Yukon and yet another Chevrolet Impala. “Oh my god! I cannot believe what we’re watching,” the video-taker yells in the background.
Perhaps realizing that Medic 28 was in no state to continue, the car thief jumped out. Arms spread wide, he sprinted across the parking lot. However, his dash to freedom was short-lived; police caught up with him and put him in handcuffs. But not before he seriously damaged the ambulance and at least four other cars.
Many of the commenters lamented the loss of one of the cars in particular: a classic Chevrolet Monte Carlo. “He gotta pay for that Monte Carlo,” one viewer responded. Another classic car fan posted crying face emojis with the words, “Not the G Body!”
He’s referring to the General Motors (GM) rear-wheel drive “G” platform, the base for the Monte Carlo and Pontiac Grand Prix. Unfortunately, that G Body is going to require some serious TLC to be roadworthy any time soon. Still, it could be rolling well before this car thief finds himself behind the wheel again.
