Shopping for a used car comes with a lot of different parameters to keep in mind. You have to not only think about the make and model of the car that you want, but when you find it, then you have to consider its mileage, condition, and most of all, price. However, iSeeCars has a couple of recommendations when it comes to picking the best used compact car under $10,000.

After analyzing many used cars, the runner-up is…

If you’re unfamiliar with it, iSeeCars is a site that lists many used cars for sale nationwide but also releases various reports and findings in the used-car market spectrum in order to provide consumers with valuable car-shopping information. As such, iSeeCars put together a massive list of the “Best Used Cars of 2021” and divided the safest and most reliable cars into different categories.

For the “best cars under $10,000,” the site only listed two different cars and the results may surprise you. First up, the runner-up is the Ford Focus, which was picked because the “car ranks above average for long-term reliability and value retention,” the site says. They also rated it an overall score of 7.6 out of 10 and noted that it has a NHTSA safety rating average of 5 stars.

Additionally, it has lower-than-average ownership costs as Repair Pal estimates that the Focus will have an estimated average repair cost of $569. That’s not bad for a commuter car.

The “Best Used Car Under $10,000” goes to…

Now you might wonder which car took the top spot for the “Best Used Car Under $10,000,” according to iSeeCars. And again, the result might surprise you. The website picked the Toyota Yaris as the best-used car that you currently purchase under an average price of $10,000.

iSeeCars noted that you can typically find five-year-old versions of Toyota’s plucky little compact car for around $9,431 and as far as the new model goes, you can expect those to hold up to 48.8% of their value after a five-year period. The Toyota Yaris is also cheap to own and inexpensive to repair as Repair Pal estimates that it will cost an average of $333 per year to fix a Yaris. That’s much lower than the Ford Focus.

There are plenty of other reliable used cars in the market

In addition to the aforementioned compact cars, iSeeCars has nominated plenty of other used cars that can be found for sale for under $10,000. Some notable compact cars include the 2011 Toyota Prius, the 2011 Honda Accord, the 2012 Honda Civic, and even the 2011 Chevrolet Impala.

All of these cars can typically be found for sale in the $9,000 to $9,500 range depending on their conditions, trim level designations, and geographical locations. However, your results may vary.
