Within the range of options, the price varies from $27,475 to just over $40,000 for the range-topping Turbo Signature. Every version of the Mazda CX-5 comes with the same standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, making 187 horsepower. Only the two top trims, Turbo and Turbo Signature, get an upgraded turbocharged 227 horsepower engine.

In addition, all CX-5 models have standard all-wheel drive. Even with the Base mode, owners get LED headlights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, push-button start, a 10.25-inch center screen, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Moreover, the comprehensive set of driving aids is also standard for all models. Starting at $31,175, the CX-5 Preferred is filled with a surprising number of features. On top of those included with the Base model, this trim gets even more. For example, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a sunroof, a power liftgate, driver’s seat memory settings, a power-adjustable passenger seat, and leather upholstery. Together, these things make the CX-5 feel much more premium without breaking the bank as much as the Turbo or Turbo Signature models.
