Audi, Nissan, and RAM make the list of the slowest-selling cars of 2025 so far
Dealerships like smooth operation. Cars come in, there’s demand, and they sell their inventory. At least, that’s how dealers and automakers want things to go. For some models, however, things move a little slower. Like certain cars, SUVs, and trucks from Audi, Nissan, and RAM that sit on dealer lots for weeks and sell at a snail’s pace.
Audi sold just 61 S6 luxury sedans in 45 days, putting it atop the list of the slowest-selling cars out there
For every hot commodity out there, like the Ford F-150 and Toyota RAV, there’s a slow-to-sell counterpart. Electric vehicles (EVs) continue to have some difficulty resonating with the US market, but a handful of ICE models managed to make the list, too.
According to the latest sales data from CarEdge, Audi stole four of the top 10 spots among the slowest-selling cars on the market. The top culprit? One of the brand’s big-body luxury sedans: the S6.
The data suggests that Americans bought just 61 S6 sedans in 45 days. Compared to another luxury market staple, the Lexus RX Hybrid, buyers took home 4,533 more of the Lexus SUV over the same timeframe.
But the S6 isn’t the only model that refuses to leave dealer lots. EVs are still slow to sell compared to many of their ICE counterparts. The Taycan, Porsche’s first all-electric sedan, isn’t selling with any expedience, for instance. Porsche dealers sold just 388 of the luxury EV sedans in 45 days.
The Nissan Murano and RAM 2500 also made the list, coming in sixth and seventh, respectively. Now, the Murano is a higher-volume vehicle, so Nissan sold nearly 4,000 in 45 days. But that’s small potatoes compared to the nearly 70,000 Toyota RAV4s that sold in the same period.
As a result, automakers are taking a long time to clear their inventories. For instance, the S6’s average market day supply, meaning how long automakers project to sell out of existing inventory based on a daily rate, suggests that it would take 482 days to sell out. That’s the better part of a year and a half.
