The Mercedes-Benz GLE is a spacious midsize luxury SUV

When U.S. News looked at roomy midsize SUVs, the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE had the most legroom out of the bunch at 40.9 inches. It has an elegant and comfortable interior made with high-quality materials. While it only has room for five, those five passengers will be quite comfortable on the ride. Buyers can opt for a third row, but it is better suited for children or luggage. Cargo space comes in at 33.3 cubic feet behind the second row, and with the seats down, that jumps to 74.9 cubic feet.

There are a few options for power, but the turbo four-cylinder standard engine still gets 255 horsepower. Heated front seats, synthetic leather, and a dual-zone automatic climate control system are standard. Mercedes also offers the ability to upgrade to leather seats, ventilated seats, and even to add a heated steering wheel.

For those who want a spacious midsize luxury SUV, the 2023 Lincoln Aviator has plenty of room for everyone. It has room for seven without the captain’s chairs, but that addition brings it down to six. The first two rows are spacious for adults and have 40.1 inches of second-row legroom. While the third row is helpful, it is better suited for children. Behind the third row, the Aviator has 18.3 cubic feet of cargo space. With the seats folded, that moves up to 77.7 cubic feet.

Lincoln went all-out with the Aviator’s interior offerings, adding 10.1-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and even a Wi-Fi hotspot. Other standard features include leather seats, power/adjustable seats, and a heated steering wheel. For those who need more power, Lincoln also offers a twin-turbo V6 or a fuel-efficient V6 plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Genesis made the GV80 a spacious midsize luxury SUV

Those looking for a roomy luxury SUV that have not considered the 2023 Genesis GV80 yet might want to give it a go. It has a quiet cabin that makes use of high-quality materials. A 14.5-inch touchscreen fills most of the dashboard, but not in an intrusive way. The standard GV80 has room for five passengers, but a third row is optional. Plus, 38.7 inches of second-row legroom make the Genesis SUV at the top of the list of roomy luxury SUVs.

Genesis equipped the GV80 with two engine choices, a 300 hp four-cylinder or a turbo V6 with 375 hp. Heated power seats are standard, along with a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, and wireless charging. For the top-of-the-line trim, leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and heated and ventilated rear seats come standard.

A quick test drive might be in order if one of these spacious midsize luxury SUVs stands out. Sometimes you can’t tell if a sport utility vehicle will work until you see it in person, especially if you carry a lot of cargo daily.
