The Accord is one of the best-selling Honda models and one of the world’s most popular cars. Originally sold in sedan and coupe body styles, the Accord has been exclusively a midsize four-door sedan since 2017. However, older models are still excellent used cars. Here’s a look at three of the most reliable Honda Accord model years under $10,000.

Note: Regardless of a car’s reliability score, obtain a vehicle history report and have a trusted mechanic perform an inspection to uncover potential problems before purchasing a used car

The 2009 Honda Accord is highly reliable for an older used model

The first model year in our roundup is the 2009 Honda Accord. U.S. News ranks this model year seventh on its 2009 Affordable Midsize Cars list. In addition, this model year has a “great” J.D. Power reliability rating of 82 out of 100. According to U.S. News, consumers pay an average of $5,900 to $9,059 for a used model.

Owners have praised the 2009 Accord for its sporty performance and power. It averages 17 to 22 mpg in the city and 25 to 31 mpg on the highway. This sedan also boasts a roomy interior and exceptional safety scores.

However, consumers have knocked the small trunk and cluttered center stack. Another drawback is that the 2009 Accord coupe’s backseat is relatively cramped and lacks ample legroom. So it’s better to stick with the sedan body style for hauling passengers.

How reliable is the 2010 Honda Accord?

When it was new, the 2010 Honda Accord retailed for $21,055 to $31,305. But used models now sell for $5,566 to $11,099, U.S. News reports. This model year has earned nods from owners for its nimble handling and reliability. The 2010 model also has an excellent J.D. Power reliability score of 83/100.

In addition to its high reliability score, the 2010 Accord tops other lists. U.S. News ranks this model fifth among 2010 Affordable Midsize Cars and 30th among Used Midsize Cars Under $15K.

Like the 2009 model, the 2010 Honda Accord delivers decent performance and a roomy cabin. But it falls short in trunk space, its center stack, and its built-in navigation system.

The 2011 Honda Accord is also fuel-efficient

The final most reliable Honda Accord year under $10,000 is the 2011 model. It touts improved fuel economy, averaging 17 to 23 mpg in the city and 26 to 34 mpg on the highway. Aside from better gas mileage, nearly everything else remains the same in both pros and cons.

Once again, the 2011 Accord provides power, performance, and reliability but falters in trunk space and its frustrating center stack and navigational system.

Despite those flaws, the 2011 Honda Accord is still a solid used car. J.D. Power gives this model year a quality and reliability score of 83/100. The original MSRP fell between $21,380 and $31,930. But according to U.S. News, used 2011 Accord models range from $8,633 to $10,853.

Overall, these three Honda Accord model years are the best in reliability on a $10,000 budget. Of course, prices will vary depending on the car’s mileage, condition, and location.
