Despite being a relative newcomer to the luxury SUV segment, the GV80 has won numerous awards and honors. Its many rivals include the pricier BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE. Thanks partly to this Genesis SUV’s relatively low starting MSRP, most GV80 customers can afford to upgrade from the base model. So, which 2024 Genesis GV80 trim is the most popular?

The GV80 is a luxury midsize SUV priced to undercut BMW and Mercedes. The 2024 GV80 has three trim levels: 2.5T, 3.5T, and 3.5T Prestige Signature.

Genesis starts the GV80 base model at $57,450. The 3.5T has a starting MSRP of $64,600. And the top-tier 3.5T Prestige Signature trim runs at least $81,500.

Despite being the base model, the 2.5T abounds with luxury. Notable amenities include a hands-free automatic liftgate, power-folding outside mirrors, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a proximity key fob. It also has coveted features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a wireless front charging station, and adaptive cruise control.

Under the hood, the 2.5T packs a 300-hp 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Although the base model offers plenty to like, most 2024 GV80 shoppers upgrade to a higher trim.

What is the most popular 2024 Genesis GV80 trim?

Of the three 2024 Genesis GV80 trim levels, the mid-range 3.5T sells the best, data collected from Edmunds shows. Starting at almost $65,000, the GV80 3.5T costs about $7,000 more than the standard 2.5T. So, why are customers willing to drop the extra cash?

The 3.5T trim provides plenty of value for the money among the three GV80 trims. Right out of the gate, the 3.5T offers more power than the base model. In fact, the 3.5T has the same powertrain as the more expensive 3.5T Prestige Signature. Both the 3.5T and 3.5T Prestige Signature pack a 375-hp 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Aside from boasting the more potent powertrain, the 3.5T touts more comfort and convenience features than the base model. For instance, the mid-level trim adds an adaptive suspension, 20-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, and a 12-speaker audio system.

Amenities set the top-tier 3.5T Prestige Signature apart from the other trims

The 2024 Genesis GV80 3.5T and 3.5T Prestige Signature trims have the same powertrain. However, the range-topping trim adds exclusive features, including an electronic limited-slip differential. Also, the 3.5T Prestige Signature boasts 22-inch dark finish split wheels, power door closure, power rear door shades, manual rear door shades, Nappa leather seating surfaces, and exterior dark chrome.

In addition, the 3.5T Prestige Signature trim touts a head-up display, three-zone climate control, heated second-row seats, wireless charging capabilities in the second row, a blind-spot view monitor, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.

Though these extras are enticing, most 2024 GV80 customers aren’t dropping an extra $15,000 to get them.Â
