Even though the SUV segment that houses the Toyota Venza is quite full of good options, it still stands out in the crowd. Equipped with the most up-to-date technology from Toyota, the 2023 Toyota Venza Limited checks all the boxes. Why should the Venza be on your list of other SUVs? After spending a week with the Venza, the case for it is pretty strong. It has a long list of pros, such as its stellar reliability, standard hybrid powertrain, and cutting-edge technology. The cons? There aren’t many.

Like most Toyota vehicles, the 2023 Toyota Venza Limited is a reliable option. J.D. Power gave the hybrid SUV a quality and reliability score of 83 out of 100. Even though we only got to drive the Venza around for a week, no issues popped up in that time. The 2023 Venza was responsive, easy to drive, and an easy fan favorite.

Pricing for all the 2023 Toyota Venza lineup trims is below. The base Venza LE trim is $34,620, while a fully loaded Venza Limited is $42,765. Since we had the Limited trim, the SUV was full of features and technology. Two of the most favorable features include the 10-inch Head-Up Display and the 12.3-inch infotainment system. Using the Road Sign Assist feature on the Head-Up Display is a great way to ensure your speed is reasonable. The infotainment system worked pretty flawlessly with wireless Apple CarPlay. This has not been the case with all brand-new SUVs, but the Venza was impressive.

Our test vehicle was the Coastal Gray Metallic color that looked clean the entire time. It is one of those deceiving colors that looks clean even after it has spent a few days outside. Even though some people enjoy washing cars, it makes life a little easier when the shiny paint looks excellent from all angles.

Is the 2023 Toyota Venza Limited a hybrid?

The 2023 Toyota Venza Limited and all other trim levels get the same hybrid engine for this year. Toyota added a 2.5L Dynamic Force four-cylinder engine with 219 combined net horsepower. This gives all trim levels 39 combined MPG, which is class-leading fuel economy. The annual fuel cost estimates are only $1,150, which is almost $2,250 in savings compared to the average new vehicle. While driving around town, the Venza produced equal and sometimes better fuel economy than the 40 mpg city advertised.

Toyota’s hybrid system in the Venza was incredibly quiet and worked pretty flawlessly. Did we mention it was quiet? Sometimes it wasn’t even noticeable the SUV was turned on because of how quiet it was. There are four drive modes: EV mode, Normal, Eco, and Sport. We spent most of the time in Eco or Sport mode to test how each felt different. Sport mode was appreciated while getting on the highway and trying to keep up in heavy traffic.

As a Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle, the Toyota Venza Limited is very fuel efficient and a great commuter option. It also comes with Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive on all trim levels. Having AWD was great for peace of mind when caught in a heavy rainstorm. For those who experience inclement weather regularly, the Venza felt safe and secure.

Is the Toyota Venza safe?

Like most vehicles from the brand, the 2023 Toyota Venza Limited is quite safe. It is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, which has plenty of systems to keep everyone onboard at ease. This includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Tracing Assist, and Automatic High Beams. Our test vehicle had the Panoramic View Monitor that offered a 360-degree look around the Venza. This was probably one of the best safety features, making parking much more straightforward. The Toyota Venza also has eight airbags all over the cabin for added safety. It earned an IIHS Top Safety Pick award, which hasn’t come easy with the newly updated crashworthiness tests.

Driving the 2023 Toyota Venza around was effortless and enjoyable. While new cars are more expensive than ever before, the Toyota Venza offers great value. It is an excellent choice for those seeking a reliable and versatile crossover SUV that won’t break the bank. Toyota did not change its winning formula very much with this year’s Venza, and it didn’t really need to. The 2023 Toyota Venza remains a well-earned top choice.
