While the Jeep Wrangler 4xe is more expensive than the regular Jeep Wrangler lineup, it is the brand’s first step into the electrification market. That alone may be worth spending the extra money on as you could qualify for a tax credit of $7,500.

The question you might have is whether it stands up to the purely gasoline-powered Wranglers by offering the same modern technology features. Let’s see if the 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe provides features like Apple CarPlay.

How does Apple CarPlay work?

Apple CarPlay is a software application you can access from your vehicle’s infotainment system. It allows you to connect to your iPhone to use the features you’ve customized to your preferences on your device.

For example, you can access navigational maps, music playlists, podcasts, audiobooks, and messaging apps from the smartphone without juggling the device and taking your eyes off the road. You simply navigate through the menus on the display of the infotainment system by either physical touch on the screen or voice activation.

According to Apple‘s website, you can also access your calendar and find specific businesses that offer what you need, like electric vehicle charging points or restaurants.

Potential consumers want to know whether the 2023 model of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe comes with Apple CarPlay or not. iPhone users will want to access their apps in the vehicle. The good news is that this model does come with both the CarPlay and Android Auto.

However, there’s even better news than that. This version of the Wrangler 4xe has wireless capability. That means you can access the features on your smartphone by wirelessly connecting and not by plugging it into the infotainment system using a USB cord.

This is made possible due to the Wi-Fi hotspot you get in all models of the Jeep Wrangler, according to Jeep‘s website.

What other tech features does the Wrangler 4xe come with?

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe has many of the same features you find on the Jeep lineup. The main difference is that the 4xe is the brand’s plug-in hybrid model of the Wrangler. Powering it up is a 2.0-liter inline-four engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Combined with the gas engine is an electric motor setup that allows the Wrangler 4xe to produce 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. You also get three E-Select driving modes, which include the Hybrid, Electric, and E-Save powertrain methods.

Regarding technology features, Apple CarPlay is not the only application the system comes with. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe comes with the UConnect system, which has an 8.4-inch infotainment screen, Bluetooth, Satellite Radio, a 9-speaker Alpine audio system, and dual-zone automatic climate controls for the base Sahara model.

With the Rubicon version, you get an Advanced 4WD system, electronic locking differentials, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning. It also comes with steel bumpers and a disconnecting anti-roll bar. For this model, you can expect to pay $58,990.

The highest trim, the High Altitude, comes in at $60,935, offering just about everything the Rubicon has. You can expect it to add standard leather bucket seats, 20-inch aluminum wheels with all-season tires, and a 3.73 Rear Axle configuration. If you’re looking for available features, you can choose an advanced safety package ($945), a cold weather group package ($1,195), and a trailer towing package ($995).

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe offers a handful of standard features, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. With its excellent technology features, the Wrangler 4xe promises to be a pretty good competitor in its class.
