Parents Magazine looked at the stats and specs of loads of cars to narrow down its lists of the best of the best. Once they’d determined the 35 semifinalists, it test drove each of them to see which ones are truly the best. From that close scrutiny it named the 2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge as the Best 3-Row Eco-Friendly SUV of the year.

So what makes the new Volvo XC90 Recharge so great? It’s a combination of the luxury SUV’s style, comfort, and eco-friendliness. The XC90 doesn’t lose anything to earn its eco-friendly status. In fact, you may not even remember that you’re driving an earth-friendly SUV – until you get to the gas pump, that is.

The Volvo XC90 Recharge accelerates quickly

One of the things that Parents Magazine loves the most about the 2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge is that it accelerates quickly. It says, “Drivers will get the sensation of instant acceleration and the feeling of flight in this SUV.”

The 2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge also comes with updated technology. Parents says that “Volvo has taken the idea of family luxury to heart, infusing elegant design to every seat.” It comes with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, a navigation system, and a 10-speaker sound system. It’s compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and also has a wireless charging pad.

How much does the XC90 Recharge cost?

The 2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge price starts at $65,895. The extended range version will cost you an extra $1,000 for a total cost of $66,895. You’ll get an electric motor that makes 400 hp and 472 lb-ft of torque. You can go 18 miles on purely electricity before the SUV switches over to the gas engine. If you opt for the Extended Range, you can go 35 miles on only electricity before it changes over to gas.

You’ll get adaptive LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, and a hands-free liftgate. The XC90 Recharge also has a digital instrument panel, heated front seats (if you opt for all-wheel-drive), and faux-leather upholstery.
