If you’re in the market for a new sedan, you’ve likely found yourself inundated with options. Among them? The 2021 Camry and the 2021 Legacy. You may be wondering, though, what are the differences between the two, and which one should you buy? Let’s find out.

2021 Camry

Arriving to the 2021 model year with a bold new look, the 2021 Camry is available in a slew of well-outfitted trim levels. Whether you’ve got your heart set on a sedan with all-wheel drive, or one that offers a full lineup of powerful engines to choose from, the 2021 Camry has got you covered.

The luxury of choice isn’t all this year’s model has to offer either. For the 2021 model year, Toyota is introducing Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+. The 2021 Camry will be the first vehicle to come equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, which includes sought after safety features like a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection.

Also new for the 2021 model year is a floating 7- or 9-inch central touch-screen display that combines both audio and navigation. A 10-inch color head-up display can also be had on this year’s model. The 2021 Camry is compatible with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa too.

2021 Legacy

As for the 2021 Legacy? Redesigned just one short year ago, the 2021 Legacy comes standard with all-wheel drive, and can be had with a long list of popular features.

According to Kelley Blue Book, the 2021 Legacy boasts better sound insulation, a stiffer structure, and improved handling. When it comes to what’s under the hood, Kelley Blue Book recommends opting for the Legacy’s available 250-horsepower turbo engine.

Interior amenities abound behind the wheel of the 2021 Legacy too. Opt for a top-of-the-line Legacy, and enjoy creature comforts like rich Nappa leather and Subaru’s new 11.6-inch Starlink infotainment system.

How do these sedans compare?

When it comes to what’s under the hood, the 2021 Camry is the clear winner. Driven by a 2.5-liter I4 engine, this year’s model boasts 203-horsepower while the 2021 Legacy’s engine is only able to achieve 182-horsepower.

If all-wheel drive is a requirement for you, then the 2021 Legacy may be your best bet. While the 2021 Camry can be had with all-wheel drive, the 2021 Legacy comes standardly equipped with Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel-drive system.

Hop inside either of these cars, and you’ll find that both are spacious. Naturally though, one is bigger than the other. While the 2021 Legacy offers more passenger headroom, the Camry provides more headroom for its driver than the Legacy does. When it comes to leg and shoulder room though, the 2021 Legacy reigns supreme.

Both sedans offer similar warranty coverage as well. Each also comes standard with a 36-month/36,000-mile limited warranty. Kelley Blue Book says both have earned a 5-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) too.

Is the 2021 Camry the right pick for you? Or is the 2021 Legacy a better choice?

With a number of similarities between them, it can be difficult to choose between the 2021 Camry and the 2021 Legacy. When it comes down to it though, we can’t deny that the 2021 Camry simply has more to offer than this year’s new Subaru Legacy.
