While used car market prices continue to shock potential buyers, the 2020 Kia Telluride SUV isn’t phased. Even after a few years, the Kia SUV is still top-rated. The reviews from Consumer Reports and Edmunds are positive, especially related to all of the safety and technology included.

It is no secret that the experts at Consumer Reports love the Kia Telluride SUV. It has consistently received top scores since it hit the market in 2020. But with the popularity of the Kia SUV and the low supply of new cars, the 2020 Kia Telluride still has plenty to offer buyers. Consumer Reports gave the reliability and owner satisfaction both perfect scores of five-out-of-five.

As far as the transmission, braking, ride, and comfort, the Telluride still strikes gold. Forward collision warning, lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, and rear-cross traffic warning are all standard. Kia also included automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection standard.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the 2020 Telluride its coveted Top safety pick award. In addition, all of the crashworthiness scores were rated “good.” That is the highest score offered. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) also gave the Kia SUV four and five-star ratings.

Edmunds found the 2020 Kia Telluride to be a well-rounded SUV

The reviews for the used 2020 Kia Telluride on Edmunds offer a similar experience. The experts at Edmunds gave the Kia Telluride an overall score of 8.4 out of 19. Some positives mention the “robust standard V6 with decent towing power” and the spacious interior. The Telluride has room for seven or eight passengers, depending on the configuration. Some have captain’s chairs in the second row which offers more access to the third row. Taking away the bench seat in row two brings the passenger count down by one.

It also comes with many standard technology and safety features without tacking on a substantial additional cost. The seats are comfortable, and so is the ride. Plus, the Kia warranty is one of the best in the industry. That means that even if you find a 2020 Kia SUV, it probably still has plenty of warranty left.

Edmunds calls the Telluride “an impressive three-row SUV” with a quiet, upscale, and comfortable cabin. The third row is big enough for adults, and the extra safety features that are included standard would cost a lot more on a similar SUV.

Look for a Kia SUV with a lot of warranty left

If you are looking for a used Kia Telluride, watch out for dealership markups. Dealership markups are common these days when the supply is low for a vehicle, and the demand is high. Some places even marked the new Telluride up by $25,000 simply because it could.

There are two minor recalls from the NHTSA that should be investigated before purchasing your new car. The first is for an inoperative trailer brake light that Kia can easily replace at the dealership. The second recall is for seat belts. The recall notes that seatbelt assemblies in the front, second, and/or third rows might not securely hold a child restraint system. Kia offered to replace the seatbelt, free of charge, back in 2019.

Overall, the 2020 Kia telluride is a well-rounded and safe SUV. If you are interested in purchasing one, check out online websites like CarMax, Kelley Blue Book, and even Carvana to get an idea of the current value. New and used car prices are high right now, but you can still get a good deal on a safe car.
