According to U.S. News, you can get outstanding features without choosing a more expensive top trim. Satellite radio, Bluetooth, keyless entry, and a USB connection are included on all models.

The Sonata Eco and Sport trims add rearview cameras, a 5-inch touch screen, and Blue Link telematics. Blind spot monitoring, an 8-inch screen, and navigation are also options for these grades. Forward collision warning, a sunroof, heated and ventilated seats, and an Infinity sound system are all included with the Sonata Limited. The Sonata Sport 2.0T and the fully equipped Limited 2.0T provide more brisk turbocharged acceleration.

A 2015 Hyundai Sonata may cost between $11,900 and $20,000, depending on the car’s condition, mileage, options, and location. This model has a sleek design, a 2.4-liter inline-four engine with 185 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, and a six-speed automatic gearbox.

The Hyundai Sonata also has an adequate cargo space of 16.3 cubic feet. According to the Kelley Blue Book, the Sonata has good handling and gets 25/37 mpg city/highway. It also has fairly quick steering.

Common 2015 Hyundai Sonata benefits and drawbacks

Although the Sonata is a reliable daily driver, the reputation of the 2015 model year has been damaged by a number of severe recalls and complaints. 

The 2015 Sonata’s throttle control system is prone to malfunction, resulting in stalling, hesitancy, and even unexpected acceleration. Currently, Hyundai has not provided a fix. The 2015 Sonata is the subject of two NHTSA investigations investigating potentially fatal airbag malfunctions and throttle control concerns that increase the likelihood of injury in a collision and render drivers unable to regulate their engines.

In the end, it is best to avoid this Sonata model, especially if you can choose a 2016 or newer model with most of the 2015 model year’s quirks ironed out.

The 2015 Sonata had recalls on safety and reliability issues 

According to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA), the 2015 Hyundai Sonata has a four out of five reliability rating, which is above average. Any car would find it challenging to get through nine recalls, two investigations, and roughly 600 complaints, with the engine accounting for half of them.

However, the seatbelt in the front passenger seat may not latch, the brake calipers may fracture, and power steering loss is possible. These issues are arguably the worst recalls. A defective second-stage airbag inflation and a left axle that may detach are the two recalls with the fewest units affected. With all that said, it would be better to avoid the 2015 Hyundai Sonata.
