2020 Hyundai Ioniq Electric is the best used EV to buy for under $30,000

According to KBB, the best used EV to buy for under $30,000 is the 2020 Hyundai Ioniq Electric. KBB cites the ability of the 2020 Ioniq Electric to serve multiple purposes, including a “family car, shorter-range commuter, or do-it-all hatchback.” Additional strengths of the Ioniq Electric include its many standard driving assistance features and a lifetime battery warranty.

Depending on where you live, it might be challenging to find a used Hyundai Ioniq Electric for sale, though. This is because Hyundai sells new Ioniq Electric models in only 13 states, Also, the Ioniq Electric doesn’t offer an all-wheel drive option, which could be a limitation for some EV car buyers.

2019 Kia Niro EV is the second-best used EV to buy for under $30,000

The 2019 Kia Niro EV takes the second spot on KBB’s list of best used EVs to buy for under $30,000. According to KBB, the Niro EV is “stylish on the outside, handsome and functional on the inside, and yet neither too avant-garde nor too expensive.” The site also highlights the Niro EV’s generous 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty and a “smart 5-passenger cabin.”

2020 Nissan Leaf is the third-best used EV to buy for under $30,000

The 2020 Nissan Leaf takes the third spot on KBB’s list of best used EVs to buy for under $30,000. Highlights of the Leaf include “sleek styling and a roomy interior,” as well as “Nissan’s ProPilot Assist semi-autonomous features.” The 149-mile driving range of the Leaf won’t blow anyone away. However, the range is enough to enable the Leaf to function as a daily commuter car for most people.

After the 2020 Nissan Leaf, the next cars on KBB’s list of best EVs to buy for under $30,000 are the 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV, 2019 Kia Soul EV, 2019 Volkswagen e-Golf, and 2019 Hyundai Kona Electric. The final three spots on the list are the 2018 BMW i3, 2018 Ford Focus Electric, and 2014 Toyota RAV4 EV.

Automotive shoppers have more choices for electric cars than ever before. Also, many automakers have plans to release new EVs in the near future. This should result in an increase in the number of reasonably-priced used EVs in the coming years.
