The Worst 2025 Ram 1500 RHO Problems After 15,000 Miles
Drivers aren’t exactly happy that Ram dropped its HEMI V8 engine and replaced it with the twin-turbocharged inline-six hurricane engine. The 2025 Ram 1500 RHO is supposed to make up for the loss of the Ram 1500 TRX. But let’s see how well it’s holding up.
The biggest 2025 Ram 1500 RHO complaints after 15,000 miles
First of all, the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO builds upon the off-roading Rebel trim with a sport-tuned exhaust, 35-inch all-terrain tires, a long-travel off-roading suspension with Bilstein adaptive shock absorbers, and flared fenders.
The high-output Hurricane engine is a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six unit with 540 hp and 521 lb-ft of torque. It replaces the Ram 1500 TRX, which provides 750 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque.
Tim from Pickup Truck Talk, has been putting the RHO through the paces so you don’t have to. After 15,000 miles, there are a few problems that stand out.
He was hit with the fatal battery problem that many other owners have reported. Apparently, this truck is prone to premature battery failure and issues. Within weeks of ownership, glitches linked to the new wiring system killed the main and auxiliary batteries.
Then the fit and finish is experiencing issues. The front fender of Tim’s truck gets lifted in the wind and looks displaced like a hangnail.
But fixing this problem would involve removing and reinstalling the truck’s full paint protection film. For an $80k truck, the paint is a bit disappointing. It’s bubbling near the rear end.
Also, his truck is experiencing electrical issues. This is another common complaint among other owners. There are consistent disruptions with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The infotainment system glitches, the radio won’t turn off, the door locks won’t function properly, and there are sensor malfunctions. Could a recall for the wiring harness be on the way?
