Arizona woman stuck in five-month battle with Progressive over wrecked SUV

A woman from Tonopa, Arizona got into a car accident about five months ago and is locked in a battle with Progressive Insurance

Sharon Wilhoite was driving her 2021 Dodge Durango when she hit another driver while turning. The wreck was recorded on a dash camera.

Luckily, no one was injured. But the SUV was significantly damaged. Wilhote filed a claim with Progressive. According to AZ Family, the adjuster reviewed her car and provided an estimate.

Allegedly, he thought it would be a total loss because the frame was damaged. Typically vehicles are considered to be a loss when the frame is bent.

But he later decided that it could be repaired, to Wilhoite’s surprise. It’s a newer car so the adjuster can’t justify writing it off as a total loss. The value of the Durango is worth more than the repair costs.

Wilhoite claims that two repair centers said they couldn’t  safely repair the SUV due to the frame. So she would be afraid to drive it if it was repaired.

Progressive Insurance has been sticking to its guns by bouncing the SUV from one repair center to another. It’s at a fourth collision center that says it could take up to six weeks to fix. Leaving her without a vehicle for an even longer period of time.
