PHEVs can get the majority considering pure EVs fuel savings at a lesser cost and without range anxiety. A PHEV, like an EV, can travel to work or school by electric vehicle power, but it can also fill up at gas stations on a lengthy road trip, much like a gas-only vehicle. PHEVs can even be plugged into standard household electricity, eliminating the need for a separate charger.

Unlike pure EVs or traditional hybrids, PHEVs offer electric driving ranges ranging from 20 to 40 miles per charge before switching to a standard hybrid mode. Given that the typical American travels 40 miles or fewer per day, some motorists will be able to use electric power for most of their everyday travel—so long as they plug in first—and save the gas engine for longer journeys. PHEVS is, therefore, the best for a brief, frequent commute, according to Consumer Reports.

They’re designed with just about any size person in mind so that they won’t be too cramped or cumbersome for most drivers is better than a hybrid. With a PHEV, your car’s engine only converts electricity from the battery into usable power, releasing that energy only as needed. In this way, you are conserving both energy and greenhouse gases!
