Typically thieves don’t want to attract attention to themselves. However, sometimes they aren’t very bright either. A truck driver was caught with 200 lbs of heroin and cocaine in Las Vegas after searching the internet about how to smuggle drugs.

Truck driver caught with 200 lbs of meth after searching for how to smuggle drugs

49-year-old Mark Delarge of Alberta, Canada might feel dumb at the moment. He definitely didn’t keep his cool during a traffic stop on Interstate 15, south of Las Vegas.

Delarge was caught speeding in his semi-truck. Police officers shared that he was going 75 mph in a 55 mph work zone. The trucker shared that he was returning to Canada and California and seemed nervous because his hands were shaking.

According to The Trucker, officers called for a narcotics detector dog to search the truck. The hardworking K-9 officer or Detective Good Boy alerted police to odors of methamphetamine, heroin, and cocaine.

Then Delarge admitted to having cocaine in his rig. Police officers found 200 lbs of cocaine and heroin hidden in several boxes.

Delarge shared that he conducted an internet search about how to smuggle drugs across the border. He browsed multiple websites and then made contact with an individual on Facebook.

The individuals agreed to have Mark pick up the narcotics in the Riverside area and drive them back to Canada. He now faces four drug-trafficking-related charges.

Searching for how to smuggle drugs was like pointing a bright red arrow at himself. Also, why was he speeding instead of trying to act normal and blend in?
