For context, it’s a 2023 XL model with 10,000 miles on it. It was specially ordered for $24,385. He only added a spare tire and a hitch for about $200. Let’s start with the positives. 

1. The Maverick Hybrid MPG 

He loves the fuel economy and shares that his truck is getting 37 mpg. This calculation is based primarily on driving in the city. Plus, it takes regular gas. 

2. The storage space 

There are storage trays and bins everywhere. The door pocket is divided, there are two trays in the center console, and there are multiple cubbies around the infotainment system. 

The backseat has enough passenger space for shorter adults. Plus, there’s more storage under the rear cushions. 

3. The Maverick bed size 

Also, the bed size is very usable. He’s used it for multiple projects, such as picking up a washing machine and a refrigerator. 

Two cons about the Maverick 

1. The style 

This owner isn’t happy with the way his wheels look. He’s aware that he could change the wheels, but he got the cheapest option. 

2. The side mirrors 

His model of the Ford Maverick doesn’t have power-adjustable side mirrors. Therefore, he must manually adjust them by hand. Now his coworkers constantly move his mirrors. 

How many MPG does the Ford Maverick Hybrid get? 

The Ford Maverick Hybrid gets an EPA-estimated 43 mpg in the city, 33 mpg in the city, and 37 mpg combined. So, his average is spot on. 

However, the Maverick Hybrid wasn’t available with AWD until 2025. These models could get a slightly lower fuel economy due to the added weight. 

How big is the Maverick’s truck bed? 

The Ford Maverick’s bed is 4.5 feet long or 54.4 inches. It’s 53.3 inches wide with 42.6 inches between the wheel wells. Also, it has a cargo volume of 33.3 cubic feet. 

The Maverick Hybrid features a payload of up to 1,500 lbs. 

What’s my take? 

I haven’t driven the Hybrid model, but I’ve had three gas-powered options to review. 

I agree that the Maverick has a great fuel economy, and I’ve enjoyed taking advantage of its versatile storage and truck bed. It has wide door openings and a convenient lift over height for loading bulky items. 

You can’t hate on the steelies. Many great trucks sport steel wheels with honor. It’s a tribute to hard-working trucks. Plus, manual mirrors help keep costs down. 

The Maverick Hybrid can tow up to 2,000, which is better than nothing. But he has a full-size truck. Instead of getting the tow hitch, he could’ve used the money to upgrade his truck’s style and features.
