A Certified Pre-Owned vehicle, sometimes called CPO, is a well-maintained vehicle that usually comes with some type of warranty. Stellantis vehicles include the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram brands. Kelley Blue Book broke down the highlights of the Stellantis CPO program.

The Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or Ram vehicle must not exceed five model years old to qualify. The car, truck, or sport utility vehicle also should not have more than 75,000 miles on the odometer.

The coverage for a Stellantis CPO vehicle extends three months or 3,000 miles. If the car has any factory warranty left, the CPO warranty won’t start until the initial coverage expires. The CPO warranty covers most of the same things a new warranty would cover, but there is a deductible for service visits.

All Stellantis Certified Pre-Owned vehicles will undergo a 125-point inspection

A seven-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty will also cover a Stellantis Certified Pre-Owned vehicle. That starts from the car’s original sales date. Buyers can also opt to upgrade this powertrain warranty with three additional plans: Powertrain Care, Added Care, and Maximum Care.

Each car will undergo a 125-point vehicle inspection as well. A certified Stellantis mechanic will inspect the vehicle’s brakes, belts, and hoses. If any repairs are needed, the mechanic will use factory-authorized parts. Stellantis will also run the Carfax report on the vehicle to ensure no accidents or issues appear on the record.

Should anything go wrong, 24-hour roadside assistance is available for issues like a flat tire or dead battery. Stellantis calls this “Sign and Go” and will cover $100 per occurrence.

You can search for CPO cars, trucks, and SUVs online

Kelley Blue Book has a section specifically for Certified Pre-Owned vehicles. Or, you can call up your local Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, or Ram dealership and inquire further. You might get lucky and find an option at a local dealership, but you can always expand your search. These days, most dealerships or companies like CarMax and Carvana will deliver a vehicle to you.

Now that the industry is trying to move past the semiconductor chip shortage, Forbes says 2022 is the year to buy a certified pre-owned (CPO) vehicle. While plenty of used cars are on the market, the certified pre-owned options have the best of both worlds. These vehicles have already gone through the initial depreciation after being purchased from new but probably have enough warranty left.

Either way, check out a Stellantis Certified Pre-Owned vehicle if you are searching for a reliable used car.
