There might be a light at the end of the tunnel for the Ram Rampage in America. Stellantis has been teasing us about a new, smaller Ram truck for years, and now there’s tangible evidence about it finally happening.

The compact Ram Rampage got a patent in the United States

Ram truck fans rejoice. A smaller, compact option is on the way. As drivers have been waiting for a new truck for years, the Ram Rampage just got an official patent in the United States.

Currently, the Rampage is available in multiple countries outside of America, but it could make its North American debut soon as Ram plans to announce 25 products in 18 months. The first announcement is scheduled for June 8.

According to Auto Guide, the Rampage could battle the Hyundai Santa Cruz and Ford Maverick. These tiny trucks prove that drivers are looking for smaller, more affordable alternatives to full-size trucks.

Ram CEO, Tim Kuniskis, shared that Stellantis needs a compact truck to compete in the United States. So, instead of building a new model like the Ram Dakota, why not bring an existing model to the states? It has already proven to be quite popular.

The Ram Rampage is built on the same platform as the Jeep Compass. It has a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 268 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. I suspect that hybrid and PHEV variants could be in the works.

Also, the new truck could be built at the idle Belvidere Assembly Plant in Illinois to dodge a few tariffs. (Pun intended). Now I can’t wait to see what happens on June 8.
