Kansas man bites dog and fights police officers at gas station
Employees at a gas station in Kansas decided to call the police when an aggressive homeless man and his innocent dog refused to leave the bathroom.
When police officers responded to the trespassing disturbance call around 3 PM at Casey’s General Store in the 17000 block of West Sixth Street, they were in for a surprise. They discovered that the suspect was naked.
According to KAKE, the man refused to comply with officers and started to fight them. He was throwing punches and biting as they tried to arrest him. Arresting officers deployed a taser twice, but that didn’t stop the rampage.
The suspect grabbed his dog and bit its ear and its neck. He aggressively refused to let the dog go before he was finally detained. Reportedly, the man continued to fight even after being placed in handcuffs.
Lawrence police officers shared that the dog suffered minor injuries. It was taken to the Lawrence Humane Society for evaluation and care. It’s unclear when and if he will be ready for adoption.
A few police officers suffered minor injuries during the scramble. One was taken to the hospital to receive treatment for a bite wound allegedly inflicted by the suspect.
There is an ongoing investigation into the incident. The suspect hasn’t been identified but was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. He is expected to be booked into the Douglas County Correctional Facility on multiple charges.
