Consider the Mazda CX-50 the slightly larger, more off-road, and “lifestyle-oriented” sibling of the popular CX-5 compact SUV, complete with somewhat more rugged exterior styling and standard all-wheel drive. Introduced for the 2023 model year, the CX-50 shares much of its underpinnings with the Mazda3 sedan, delivering Mazda’s expected driving verve in the convenience of an SUV. So, how much can shoppers expect to pay for a new CX-50 in its base guise and top trim with all its available add-ons? Here’s how much a fully loaded 2024 Mazda CX-50 costs.

The 2024 Mazda CX-50 starts at $30,300

Buyers interested in the 2024 Mazda CX-50 have a plethora of models from which to choose. The CX-50 is offered in eight trims with either a 187-hp 2.5-liter engine or a turbo 2.5-liter delivering 256 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque in upper models.

In just its second year of production, updates for the 2024 CX-50 are minimal, though the lineup has been reduced from 10 trims to eight, with the Select now serving as the base model. A 12-speaker Bose audio system and wireless charging are also now standard on Premium trim models and higher.

The 2024 CX-50 starts at $30,300 MSRP for the base Select model. Standard features include automatic LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, power side mirrors, a power liftgate, 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels, and keyless entry with push-button start. Inside, dual-zone automatic climate control, Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity, a six-way manual-adjustable driver’s seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear selector, and synthetic leather-trimmed seats are standard. Other amenities include a 10.25-inch display atop the dash with an eight-speaker audio system, dual USB ports in both rows of seats, and a 7-inch driver’s information display.

Regarding driver-assistance features, smart cruise control with stop and go, forward automatic emergency braking, and blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert are fitted as standard.

The range-topping Turbo Premium Plus trim starts at $43,300

Mazda has become synonymous with delivering an upscale experience in upper trim models, and that’s especially true for the range-topping 2024 Mazda CX-50 Turbo Premium Plus trim, which practically infringes into luxury territory.

The Turbo Premium Plus, as the name suggests, is fitted with the 256-hp turbo engine and includes a long list of desirable features. The top model rides on 20-inch, black metallic wheels and features amenities like a panoramic moonroof, paddle shifters, leather-trimmed upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and steering wheel, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, navigation, satellite radio connectivity and a wireless charging pad.

The top model also comes equipped with additional safety features like a 360-degree view monitor, blind spot assist, lane-keep and blind-spot assists, a head-up display, traffic sign monitor, front and rear parking system, and reverse automatic braking.

Options and accessories for the 2024 Mazda CX-50

As the Mazda CX-50 is offered in a bevy of trims, optional packages for the 2024 model are somewhat limited. Still, there are plenty of accessories to accentuate the Mazda’s “active lifestyle” M.O.

Most models only offer one or two no-cost exterior paints with optional colors ranging in price from $450 to $595. Some notable accessories include a bike carrier roof rack ($310), roof crossbars ($350), a carpet cargo mat ($100), a rooftop tent ($1,899), or a trailer hitch cargo box ($900).

Lower models can also be outfitted with the Convenience Package ($700), which includes a “Homelink” rearview mirror and wireless charging, the $550 Accent Package with illuminated door sill plates and a side rocker “garnish,” a wireless charging pad ($270) and navigation ($476). Meridian trim models can be decked out with the Apex Package ($1,235), which includes a roof platform, splash guards, black roof crossbars, and black wheel locks/lug nuts.

All in, a 2024 Mazda CX-50 in its top trim with every available non-conflicting accessory and optional package costs $54,014. However, it should be noted this includes far more than most buyers will need — such as a surfboard carrier, kayak carrier, and all pet accessories, including a pet ramp.
