Lexus is a popular brand, and compact luxury SUVs are a popular segment. The Lexus NX is the Japanese luxury brand’s entry in this class, slotted between the smaller UX and the perennially popular midsize RX. Additionally, the Lexus NX Hybrid is obviously the hybrid variant.

Let’s look at what you can expect to pay for a Lexus NX Hybrid, both at its base, entry-level trim, and when decked out at the top trim with all available add-ons and accessories. To clarify, we’re talking specifically about the conventional hybrid variant of the NX, not the non-hybrid or the plug-in hybrid.

The 2024 Lexus NX Hybrid entry-level trim

The 2024 Lexus NX 350h AWD is the sole trim of the conventional hybrid NX. It starts at $44,205, including the destination fee. Power comes from a 2.5-liter hybrid four-cylinder engine rated at 240 horsepower. That makes it more potent than the NX 250 but not as strong as the NX 350. According to EPA estimates, it returns an impressive combined fuel economy rating of 39 mpg. That’s actually more efficient than the plug-in hybrid with a dead battery, which gets 36 mpg. Premium gas is recommended, which can add to your fuel costs.

You get a lot of excellent standard features in the Lexus NX Hybrid. A few include 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, NuLuxe interior trim, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a 9.8-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10-speaker audio system, and the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 safety tech suite.

The Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 bundles many driver assistance features like adaptive cruise control with curve speed management, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, road sign assist, automatic high beams, and more.

Optional upgrades and packages for the NX Hybrid

Some premium paint options, like Cloudburst Gray, Eminent White Pearl, and Cadmium Orange, can add to the price tag. An available Premium Package for $3,050 upgrades the NX with ventilated front seats, a memory driver’s seat, steering column, and mirrors, Black Prism interior trim, a power moonroof, a hands-free power liftgate, rain-sensing wipers, and parking sensors.

An optional Luxury Package for $6,140 includes the contents of the Premium Package, plus a lot more. It also adds a perforated leather-trimmed interior with chevron seat quilting, power lumbar adjustment in the driver’s seat, a 14-inch infotainment system, a head-up display, door courtesy lamps, black open-pore wood trim, ambient interior lighting, and bi-LED headlights with an adaptive front lighting system.

Additional options include 20-inch wheels, a heated steering wheel, a tow package, a digital key, and a panoramic view monitor.

If you fully option a Lexus NX Hybrid with Cadmium Orange paint, the Luxury Package, and everything else you can add, the price comes to $58,245. That’s still a little lower than the starting price of the plug-in hybrid Lexus NX 450h+.

The value of the Lexus NX Hybrid luxury SUV

The value proposition is questionable for a fully-loaded 2024 Lexus NX Hybrid. However, it’s a good buy on the lower end of the price spectrum at around the mid-$40k price point. If you want a practical compact luxury SUV that’s good on gas, the efficient NX Hybrid is a top choice.
