Chevrolet’s lineup was once loaded with family sedan options. However, as SUV popularity rises and automakers’ willingness to offer sedans has concurrently waned, the Chevy Malibu now stands as the brand’s last sedan offered in the U.S. There have been murmurings that the Malibu was all but dead. Still, the midsize sedan is soldiering on for at least the 2024 model year. So, how much can car buyers expect to pay for a new Chevy Malibu both at its base level and in its top trim with all available add-ons? Here’s how much a fully loaded 2024 Chevy Malibu costs.

The 2024 Chevy Malibu starts at $26,195

The 2024 Chevrolet Malibu is among the more affordable options in the midsize sedan category, with a starting price of $26,195 with a destination charge. The Malibu is available in four trims — the base LS, RS, 1LT, and 2LT — with the range-topping 2LT commanding $32,595.

The Malibu hasn’t been notably updated for 2024, a theme that stretches back to the 2019 model year. The Lakeshore Blue Metallic exterior paint is now available, and all models come with a tire inflation kit; otherwise, the Malibu remains unchanged.

Shopping for a Malibu is relatively easy compared to many of its rivals, as no additional powertrain options are available. All models are powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine developing 160 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. The engine pairs with a continuously variable transmission, and the Malibu is exclusively offered in front-wheel drive.

Standard features of the Malibu include 16-inch aluminum wheels, keyless entry and ignition, cloth upholstery, a manually-adjustable driver’s seat, a six-speaker sound system, remote engine start, and 60/40-split folding rear seats. The LS also features an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Active safety features include automatic headlights and high beams, cruise control, forward automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning with steer assist, and a rear seat reminder.

The Chevrolet Malibu 2LT tops the range

The 2LT trim, starting at $32,595, is the pinnacle 2024 Chevy Malibu. However, due to the nameplate’s current reputation, that’s probably not saying much.

Exterior features of the 2LT include 19-inch aluminum wheels, full LED exterior lighting, and heated outside mirrors. Interior highlights include leather upholstery, ambient lighting, heated/ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, an 8-inch digital driver’s display, an eight-way power adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bose audio system, wireless charging, navigation, satellite radio, and air vents/center armrest for rear passengers.

Options and accessories for the 2024 Chevy Malibu

The availability of optional packages for the 2024 Chevy Malibu is dependent on trim selection.

Limited add-ons are available for the LS, including two selections for all-weather protection packages ranging from $225 to $295 and stand-alone accessories like a rear spoiler ($495) or black exterior Chevrolet emblems ($175).

The RS model ($27,095) offers optional Radiant Red exterior paint ($495), lane change alert with blind zone monitoring ($250), and a host of accessories.

The Malibu 1LT can be had with three appearance packages. The Sport Edition and Midnight Edition each cost $895, including black exterior badging and grille, black 19-inch wheels, a Jet Black interior, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and LED tail lamps. The Midnight Edition is only offered in Mosaic Black Metallic exterior paint. The Redline Edition ($1,195) includes many of the same features with red accents and unique 19-inch wheels.

The Driver Confidence and Cruise Package is available on 2LT models for an additional $1,000. It includes adaptive cruise control, an automatic parking assist system, and enhanced automatic emergency braking. The Redline, Midnight, and Sport Edition packages, and a dual-pane power sunroof ($1,050) are also available.

A fully loaded 2024 Chevrolet Malibu 2LT with optional paint, the floor liner package, Redline Edition, drivers’ aid package, sunroof, cargo mat, lane change alert, rear spoiler, illuminated black Chevy emblem and built-in garage door opener rings in at $38,050. Buyers can also include a bevy of accessories like a cargo organizer, cooler, cleaning products, a tool kit, or safety kits for an additional cost.
