Yesterday, the Internet-famous MrBeast announced on social platforms that he’ll be giving away 26 Tesla EVs in celebration of his birthday. Yep, one for every year! The contest is happening exclusively on his Instagram page. Here’s the lowdown.

Who is MrBeast, and how can he afford to give away 26 Teslas?

James Stephen Donaldson operates several YouTube channels and a snack company under MrBeast branding. The main account, @MrBeast, has 256 million followers. Due to the amount of watch time he earns and various brand partnerships, Business Insider reported that the star rakes in $600-$700 million per year.

However, that much attention comes at a high cost. Over time, Donaldson has had to step up how extreme, entertaining, or philanthropic his content is each time he releases a video. As such, most of what he takes in goes back into creating content.

For instance, two weeks ago, the star partnered with T-Mobile and released an exactly 10-minute video of pure entertainment. It’s embedded below – if you haven’t seen it, watch and you’ll start to understand why it has more than 77 million views.

A 2024 Tesla Cybertruck is the grand prize, plus 25 Tesla Model 3s

For this sweepstakes, entrants must follow directions on the MrBeast Instagram post. You have until 11:59 pm ET on May 11, 2024 to enter. Then, Donaldson will DM 26 winners, one of which gets the grand prize: a brand-new Tesla Cybertruck worth $120,000.

25 others will win a Telsa Model 3 valued at $39,000 each.

The rules state that depending on the circumstances, the winners might be forced to accept a cash prize instead of a Tesla.

What’s more, winners will be responsible for all delivery fees, taxes, title and plate fees, insurance, maintenance, and more. The full rules are linked in the Instagram post.
