The 2021 Toyota RAV4 comes stocked with safety features

When it comes to safety features, the 2021 Toyota RAV4 doesn’t make any compromises. Even when you opt for the base RAV4, you can expect it to come stocked with sought after safety features. Standard with Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, this year’s new RAV4 boasts confidence-inspiring safety features like a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alerts with steering assist, lane tracing assist, road sign assist. 

All RAV4 models also come standardly equipped with Toyota’s Star Safety System. This system includes vehicle stability control, traction control, an anti-lock braking system, electronic brake distribution, and brake assist. Not only that, but according to Toyota, its Star Safety System helps drivers maintain control and avoid collisions when faced with certain driving conditions.

Does a long list of safety features make the Toyota RAV4 a safe SUV?

Fortunately for the 2021 Toyota RAV4, its long list of safety features paid off in the end. According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), this year’s model is a 2020 Top Safety Pick. It earned a score of ‘Good’ in all of the IIHS’ crashworthiness tests and was recognized for its easy-to-use child seat anchors. 

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) also put the 2021 Toyota RAV4 through a host of crashworthiness tests. In its testing, the NHTSA says that this year’s RAV4 earned a five out of five overall safety rating. So, all in all, the 2021 Toyota RAV4 is a pretty safe SUV.

But high safety ratings aren’t the only thing that the 2021 Toyota RAV4 has going for it. The 2021 Toyota RAV4 also comes standard with ToyotaCare. This no-cost maintenance plan covers things like oil changes, tire rotations, and even multi-point inspections. It also includes 24-hour roadside assistance coverage for two years and unlimited mileage.

How much will the 2021 Toyota RAV4 cost you?

While the RAV4 has a lot going for it, its base price is fairly reasonable. Opt for a RAV4 LE, and you can expect to spend about $26,050 on it. While U.S. News & World Report says that price is slightly above average for a compact SUV, this year’s model does come standard with far more standard features than many of its competitors.
