The Honda Odyssey is the perfect fit for families

If you’re in the market for a new family hauler, you really can’t go wrong with the Honda Odyssey. It’s standard with family-friendly features like an automatic climate control system, a seven-speaker audio system, and a rearseat reminder. And if that doesn’t quite do it for your brood? The Odyssey can also be had with interior amenities like a rear entertainment system, CabinWatch, CabinTalk, and WiFi hotspot capability.

The Honda Odyssey is a safe bet too. All models are standard with sought after safety features like automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. It’s also available with a blind spot information system. It’s no wonder that the 2021 Odyssey was named a Top Safety Pick+ by the IIHS.

Can you count on this year’s Odyssey to be a reliable family hauler?

There’s no denying that the Honda Odyssey has a lot to offer when it comes to family-friendly features. But can you count on it to be reliable? Unfortunately, that’s kind of a toss-up. According to Consumer Reports, the 2021 model earned a two out of five reliability rating, which isn’t all that impressive. Last year’s model earned a higher rating of three out of five, but even still. The last Odyssey to earn above a three out of five reliability rating was the 2016 model.

But J.D. Power did give the Odyssey slightly better ratings. The 2021 Honda Odyssey earned a ‘Great’ quality and reliability rating, as did the 2020 Odyssey. So, while Consumer Reports may have given the Odyssey lower ratings, it’s worth keeping in mind that J.D. Power didn’t necessarily agree with its assessment.

Here’s how many miles you can expect the Honda Odyssey last

Now, how many miles can you actually expect the Honda Odyssey to last? Because if you plan on keeping your next family hauler for quite some time, then you’re obviously going to want one that’s made to last. Fortunately, the Honda Odyssey was built to do exactly that.

According to iSee Cars, the Honda Odyssey is currently the longest-lasting passenger car on the market. After analyzing more than 15.8 million cars sold in 2019 to determine which models have the highest percentage of vehicles that reached 200,000-miles, iSee Cars found that 2.7% of Odyssey models made it to 200,000-miles. The Odyssey was the only minivan to make iSee Car’s list of longest-lasting passenger cars too.
