Guy Fieri and Sammy Hager’s tequila trucks get hijacked
Some places related to Flavor Town are going without tequila. Guy Fieri and Sammy Hager are facing the aftermath of being hijacked.
Thieves got away with stealing two freight trucks that were carrying about $1 million worth of tequila on board. The tequila is from the Santo Spirits brand, of which Guy and Sammy are co-owners.
When the trucks went missing in Laredo, Texas, they were carrying 24,240 bottles of Santo Blanco, Reposado, and specially made Extra Añejo. The Extra Añejo took over 39 months to create.
The trucks were stolen by an organized crime effort. They were illegally double-brokered to different carriers who transferred the tequila to their trucks after crossing the border from Mexico to Texas.
According to Fox News, the crime is being investigated by the Laredo Police Department, Los Angeles Cargo Criminal Apprehension Tram, the federal theft prevention, and the CargoNew recovery network.

Guy Fieri is offering a $10,000 reward to anyone who can find the missing trucks. Also, he’s glad that no one involved, including his drivers, got hurt.
Workers at the Mexican distillery are on a 24/7 schedule to replace the stolen tequila. However, Fieri isn’t confident that he will be able to replace the stolen cargo in time for the holidays. This is typically when his sales are highest.
Santos Spirits President, Dan Butkus, is worried about how the hijacking of 440 cases of tequila will impact the distillery and employees.
Their independent distiller and his team rely on sales for their livelihood. The sales, marketing, and entire Santos Spirits team will struggle without the revenue from the missing cases.
